the other three are not done, of course, but i wanted to get some feedback on the ideas (animals) before i proceed with them. i may change their looks up between now and the finished product.

You might be glad to hear that you are not alone on your stance regarding Equius. Obviously people who gravitate towards him in the fandom share your views, but there's also an in-universe purrson who also thinks like us: Nepeta. Not even Karkat understands why she would bother with Equius but I guess she can detect something in him thats not immediately visible.
