Chi Avende backstory. Still disjointed!

Chi Avende and his companions met Asius. They didn't meet Asius. They met Guneus. They didn't meet Guneus. They rescued, ignored, accepted, rejected. 

When they saw redcaps attack Gladewood, Asius said it wasn't their problem, and Lycaste insisted that they had to hurry to her people to have the soulslayer parasites removed. 

When they saw redcaps attack Gladewood, Chi Avende and Guneus insisted they help.

Chi Avende: What's the point of power if it doesn't benefit anyone?

Guneus: My thoughts exactly.

Asius: The point of power is to benefit us.

Chi Avende: I've only been a battlemage a few days. I ought to get some practice in.

Chi Avende backstory. Still disjointed!

Chi Avende left the crashed ship with his new allies, and quickly realized that the world they'd crashed on was a nightmare. He hoped that it was just the place they'd landed, and that there would be proper civilization somewhere nearby.

He carefully asked his companions about their civilization. 

He started with how they shaped their metal, and what they used it for. They were confused at the thought of making vehicles out of metal. He asked about electricity. They only knew about lightning, and spells that imitated it.

He was polite about it, but he was disappointed.

Lycaste and Chi Avende reached the helm of the living ship.

Lycaste, Syme, and Chi Avende reached the helm of the living ship.

They found a battle between the Soulslayers and the Evils.

They were killed by an Evil. They were killed by a Soulslayer. They killed every Evil and Soulslayer, giving Chi Avende his first taste of his new magic. They ran past the Evils and Soulslayers, barely fighting.

They took control of the ship, crashed, and died.

They took control of the ship and crashed, but an invisible force kept them alive and allowed them to escape.

In some timelines, Zane never came to serve the Many.

The Many called a different champion to Omelas, and usually, things more or less worked out. But without Zane, the godthief grenaal was not entrusted to Xur. In some timelines, the grenaal was entrusted to people as dedicated and vigilant as Xur, and was kept safe.

Maybe, if Nene hadn't gone looking for it in AVE, it would have stayed safe. But she knew a little too much, and the Sect was able to defeat its guardians and claim it as their own.

Chi Avende Backstory. Now out of order!

As an Armada soldier, Xur led a battle against the League of Suns that ended in a disastrous defeat.

Without Xur, the Armada didn't get that far. The League had a decisive victory instead of a last-minute rally, they gained more of a hold on their part of space, and were in more of a position to drive away the Realm. 

Their territory expanded. Because the League is open to Landrean settlement, the League's expansion gave Landrea more cities.

That allowed the Sect of the Imperative to spread.

After the battle, Lycaste and Chi Avende came across a holding pod with a person still in it. She was alive, with no signs of transformation, begging for help.

Lycaste insisted that they leave behind the helpless woman to more quickly escape the ship.

Chi Avende refused, and as much as Lycaste objected, he looked for ways to free the prisoner, and found one. She introduced herself as Syme.
