Family, friends, and colleagues applauded Amara and Bella on their success. Despite Bella's speech, she did not miss the glance of a young woman at her husband. It goes without saying that he did not take offense. Despite her unflappable countenance and cool demeanor Bella's anger and jealousy were simmering deep within.

Amara: (slightly irritated) Uh, of course, Mrs. Goth. You'll be the maid of honor. Avery and I are in a happy place, admittedly. Still, first we need some quality time together as we're going to move in together soon. He is very understanding, patient, and caring towards me and my situation. Unfortunately, since the accident, I am no longer used to love. Things feel a little peculiar, different (lost in thought). After all, if not for you, I would not be here. So, I owe you a debt of gratitude for saving me, I think?

Bella: (snickers) I'm not sure how that can be described as love. Are you in love with him?

Amara: I am in love with him. As you may imagine, it is not the same kind of love as I experienced in the past. It’s more a bond of a different kind. Rather than being emotional, my decision is rational.  

Bella: I'm sure you'll take care of that as well. I know you will.

Amara: To be honest, I'm not sure humans will ever be able to simulate this complex process of emotions in a bioengineered vessel. The linkages between a semi-artificial/bioengineered body and an organic brain are quite a challenge. Very tricky and extremely puzzling. Anyway, I assume this little event won't be the announcement for Gen5, right?

Bella: Obviously, I would invite far more people to an event, such as this, so I agree with you. Today? It’s more of a get-together, a party.

Harp: No! Whoever coded this line is one hell of a netrunner*. However, that line itself is not unfamiliar. In fact, it's been used repeatedly. Our experts have not been able to breach their code as of yet. Our squad is on the case, though.

Avery: Good! Is there another unidentified number she dialed recently? Harp: Not on her phone, sir! I'm sorry I can't share better news with you. Avery: (chuckles) Clever cookie, I'll give her credit for that. (smiles) Alright. Harp: May I ask why you are interested in knowing it? Avery: She was being a little too meltdowny for my tastes. I dislike that. Harp: Do you want me to work this case up with the squad? Avery: No, thank you. For now, I'm investigating this case myself, though I may get back to you. Wonder to whom you've been talking, darling? Odd for you to act so secretive all of a sudden. Now I see why you were asking all those questions, though.
