Avery: Amara, are you coming with me home?
Amara: Yeah sure. I’m done here anyways.
Nyla: I will ring you up!
Amara: Yeah, do that, please. Weekend?
Nyla: This weekend I’m busy. Next Friday I have a gig but Saturday works.
Amara: Perfect, Avery has places to be and will have a secret operation. We will do a slumber party.
Avery: [teasing eyeroll] Of course I’m not invited.
Amara: Girl’s night, sorry love. Bye, Ny! Nyla: Bye, girl. On their way leaving Dark Matter. Avery: Are you okay Mara? You seem to be pretty off today? Amara: I’m fine. Avery: You had a call with someone. Did that upset you? Amara: No, it did not upset me. It was someone I used to know. Avery: [skeptical] Do I need to worry about you? Who was that? Amara: [flippant] Nobody you know. Avery: Really? I don’t want you to be involved in something that upsets you. I disapprove. Amara: [soothing] Ave, please there is no need to worry about me. I’m just doing some personal investigation. Avery: You know I can help you. Whatever it is I can find it out for you. Amara: Darling, I know. But I have to do this one on my own. Do you trust me? Avery: Of course I do. Amara: Well, if you trust me trust in my ability that I can figure it out myself. Avery: Sure. Are you happy? I mean with me? Is everything alright between us? Amara: I am happy. It has nothing to do with us. Let’s go home, okay? Avery: For now it’s fine! You are the CEO of one of the most powerful corporations in the world. Wouldn’t that be a good reason to party? Amara: I’d rather spend my time with you and tomorrow I can continue to worry how to deal with this new job position and still leading my project. Avery: Once we are home I will make sure to distract your beautiful mind. Amara: How? Avery embraces Amara. Avery: [snickers] You know what I want. Amara: For real? You are high-maintenance. Avery: Hey sue me, for being in love with you. Amara: Excuses are all I hear. You want my love mode on? Avery: Hey, that’s a good one. Wait do you have actually a “love mode”? Amara: Avery.. seriously you are out of your mind.
Avery: Well, can’t blame me for asking, love. I needed to double check. Amara: Sue me that I did not invent a love mode. Avery: [cheeky] Maybe you should? Amara: [laughs] If you continue like that my “love mode” will be off tonight... Avery: Where is the fun in that?
