Avery was once again waiting for Helena in the alleyway where she’d first run into the witch. She knew she should reveal herself to the young woman, but the fear of rejection still permeated her entire (at the moment small) being. The paranoia that Helena would treat her poorly also bounced around her mind, though she’d been nothing but nice to her while she remained in cat form.
Meowing softly, she trotted over to Helena as soon as she saw her, twisting her body around the woman’s leg, rubbing up against her gently, the way cats did. If she needed to vent, Avery was there. If she just wanted to sit in silence, Avery could do that too. She wasn’t a very effective Familiar at the moment, but she could sit and listen, at least.
