It Ends Tonight || Chris & Jen
Breaking up was hard to do. Knowing that the person you loved would no longer be there constantly was a hard pill to swallow. Missing him was going to be the hardest thing to recover from. Missing anything was difficult to live with. Jen had missed her brother when she was only eleven and he was sent away. She had missed Warren and Chris when they’d gone their separate ways. Now she was going to miss Finn. Their good times. Perhaps even their low points. Her heart ached and her stomach turned and she cried. Mascara lines lightly streaked her cheeks in a gray color. Jen deserved this. Earlier this morning, crawling out of Warren’s bed, she knew something bad was on the horizon. She expected this very thing to happen. Yet she had not prepared herself enough. Her eyes were bloodshot and her bottom lip quivered ever so slightly as she entered the common room.
As if Jen wasn’t in her own body, her feet carried her away from the girls’ dorms and directly towards the boys’. Without notice, she stopped in front of the seventh year dorm. She reached for the handle, pushing the door inside. The bed she was most familiar with was the one she walked directly towards. Finally, lifting her head, Jen glanced towards the face that seemed to give her such warmth and comfort even in his own cold times. “Ch-Chris,” Came her stuttered words. In a way, she felt bad for him. He wasn’t always her first choice, but Avery was always the person she fell back to. It was a vicious cycle that could soon end. She wrapped the large cardigan tighter around her body, trying not to sob in his presence, but it was proving to be difficult. As pieces of hair stuck to her wet cheeks, Jen silently wished she'd have tied her hair out of her face. But how was she to know her walls were to come crumbling down all at once? "H-hope I'm not int-interrupting anything." She sniffled.
