✈️ Today We Remember the Concorde Tragedy 🕊️

On this day, the world of aviation suffered one of its darkest moments when Air France Flight 4590, a Concorde supersonic airliner, crashed shortly after takeoff from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG).
The aircraft struck a strip of metal left on the runway by another aircraft, causing a tire to burst. Debris ruptured a fuel tank, leading to a catastrophic fire. Despite the crew's efforts, Concorde was unable to gain sufficient altitude and crashed into a hotel in Gonesse, France.
The tragedy claimed the lives of all 109 people on board (100 passengers and 9 crew members), along with 4 people on the ground.
This accident marked the only fatal crash in Concorde's history and led to significant safety modifications before the aircraft eventually returned to service. Concorde was retired from commercial operations in 2003, bringing the era of supersonic passenger travel to an end.
Today, we honor the memory of the 113 lives lost and remember the remarkable aircraft that forever changed the history of aviation.
