❝ ... what d’you mean the tabs been paid? i haven’t forked over my wallet yet. in any case, i’m still hungry, so open it ag -- hah? ❞ midway through his protest, shouta’s server says something hushed to him, smiling bemusedly. think it was a gift, sir. his demeanor shifts from a frustrated sort of confused to straight up puppy-face puzzled, and they point in the direction of a nearby table as subtly as possible during their departure.
much less subtly, shouta takes the last bite out of his bowl and with rice stuffed cheeks, turns his head to find the culprit. he suspects it’ll be a middle aged woman in leopard print clothes and high heel boots, but finds something a little different.
❝ oh... you, huh? ❞ with his mouth full still and an entire table separating them yet, aizawa probably sounds like he said something more like. oh, ooew, uh? but even after swallowing, he doesn’t bother to repeat himself. if hawks can’t translate this far into their friendship, that’s a hawks problem.
he moves to sit in the booth across from him, one arm propped on the back of the seat as he leans back into it, head tilting. if his tab and bizarrely sober demeanor doesn’t speak for how absolutely faced he is in actuality, his body language reveals a looseness he definitely doesn’t possess naturally. ❝ you gettin’ at something? buying me drinks... tch. what the hell are you doing here on new years eve, anyway? it’s the most boring joint in the city. ❞ he rolls a marble over on the table towards him. it’s unclear where he got it from.
