To honor the 40th anniversary of The Super Mario Bros Series

What's your favorite Scenes from the Mario Bros Movie?

You might as well ask me to choose my favorite star in the sky.

/Silly, but it is a difficult choice. Everybody’s already talked about this moment:

So I’ll leave them out of the running.

So now it’s a toss up between Luigi’s flashback, and the beginning scene in Punchout Pizzaria.

The flashback– besides showcasing more of the wholesomeness of Mario and Luigi’s relationship– was a nice bit of dialogue-free storytelling. And it was a surprisingly mature choice for Illumination to leave Luigi’s thoughts and feelings completely up to the viewer’s interpretation, letting the context and facial expressions tell the story rather than spelling things out.

The Punchout Pizzaria scene was just so good at establishing the tone for The Bros and their entire relationship right from the jump. The low budget sincerity of their commercial, Luigi’s little fumbles, Mario’s exuberance, and the entire exchange of physical affection and praise afterward.

What Would Peach's favorite Place of Her tour with Mario in Brooklyn be?

Short Answer: Punch-Out Pizzeria

Long Answer: Having grown up in the Mushroom Kingdom all her life (surrounded by riches, no less), Peach isn't exactly accustomed to a normal life. To her, even just gumball machines are the most fascinating things in the world.

On the other hand, you have Mario, who is VERY much the opposite. When Peach asks him if he can give her a tour of Brooklyn... he's a little more than nervous. Scratch that... he's a wreck. Believing she expects the best, and ONLY the best, he initially planned on taking her to the more fancy areas of Brooklyn... until he looked at his wallet. Thus, he reluctantly decides to take her out to the one place he can afford (mainly because it's free)

Punch-Out Pizzeria!

It's not the best place, but it does serve pizza to him on a family discount (thanks to the lovely Giovanni and Carlotta, two individuals who have been in the bro's lives since they were babies). Nevertheless, he tries to make the best of it by fixing himself up in his best suit and doodling a little drawing for her before he goes off to meet her.

Once they're there... Peach actually seems to love the place! Just from looking at the lights and colors, her eyes light up like the night sky. She also gets along with Giovanni and Carlotta quite well, even to the point of calling them "Nonno" and "Nonna" like Mario does... which they very much like! There was, however, a little confusion halfway through as Peach didn't know they didn't serve pink pizzas. But thankfully, Carlotta's willing to try anything new, so she's thinking about adding it to their menu once she perfects the recipe! 😉

All in all... Mario's bewildered by the fact that Peach genuinely loves it there. Although she doesn't say it... her eyes tell him everything.

Mario later took her out to many of Brooklyn's other attractions: Coney Island, Prospect Park, the Botanic Gardens, you name it. But after every trip... Peach always said the same thing.

"I love it here, Mario... could we possibly eat at your pizza place?"

I know it's one week until Thanksgiving and I asked so many questions but, What do you think about Mario joining the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade as a Balloon? 🎈

I’ve never seen a Macy’s day parade either in person or on TV, so I have no major opinion on the matter. I’m just surprised it took so long to get Mario his own balloon.

YESSS MARIO GALAXY COOKIE LEAK REAL

The thing about the Illumination renders is that they tend to look a little odd as still models, but proceed to look fantastic when animated.

So while my first impression of Yoshi’s design currently sits at 7/10, pretty sure it’s going to get bumped up to 9.5/10 after I watch the trailer.

What I am especially interested in is the Comet Observatory and further confirmation of Bowser Jr. on the back of the box:

Hello piano, I said another ask but I am very 80% anxious if Luigi is joining the adventure, But I WE ARE GETTING A TRAILER IN TWO DAYS!!!

And I need my boy Yoshi to be revealed so Badly!!! 😭

I’m trying not to stress too much about Luigi’s speculative screentime XD

He was in a leaked storyboard, the leaked old spice spray, and a leaked toy. His voice actor’s confirmed to be returning, and he was a playable character and active member of the plot in both Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2.

Luigi’s going on this adventure whether he likes it or not, and if he gets snubbed again, I’m simply taking that as evidence that a Luigi’s Mansion Movie is right around the corner.

Otherwise YEAAAH MARIO GALAXY MOVIE HYPE!!

My heart is going to explode out of my ears on Wednesday!! I CAN’T WAIT!!!!
