Reina’s just absolutely “thrilled” to be having to deal with R and their BS yet again, after she’s been wanting to be done with them since the end of Year 5. Since I’m not following canon, Peregrine is just some rando they gotta deal with, but claims to be a member of her family. He isn’t.

Reina’s patience with R is non-existent by this point, and she’s made it clear that it’s on sight with those fuckers going forward. She’s 18 and she’s fed up with the shitty little cult of self-righteous fuckheads that rely on vulnerable kids to do their dirty work.

The tablet thing she’s holding is her Mirror Tablet, which is the exact same as a modern iPad but fueled by magic. It’ll make sense later, I promise XD

Since I made a sheet for Reina, figured I’d do the same for Ricardo (Jacob). I’ve been planning on drawing him in heels for the longest time and damn does it look good XD This is his look as of Year 7. He’s pretty fashionable when he wants to be.

The cute little lovebird on his shoulder is his Familiar named Mango.

After some quick thinking over I decided to make adult Reina a bit chubbier since I wanted to realistically depict how her body would change after carrying and giving birth to quadruplets. Still a queen, of course lol. Gotta tweak her top a bit and I think she’ll be good to go.

I’ve considered drawing her in the HPMA style but I wouldn’t even know where to start. ALSO while not shown, she’s gonna be taller than Talbott lol I made the dude himself crazy tall as well (6’5’’), but Reina herself is a full 7ft. I’ll try my hand at giving Tal a more consistent adult look and then I’ll move on to their kiddos since they’ve gone through a few changes themselves as well.

Older Reina, anyone? Being one of those folks that age like fine wine, she's around her late 50s to early 60s here. She's a sweet mom, auntie and granny rolled into one. She's still as sweet and doting, and still very capable of kicking ass if necessary. Still living the best life she can every step of the way.

This is more of a standalone piece rather than her future in the HPHM AU, as I had her as an OC well before the game was even announced. However, this design can still apply to her HPHM self! Key difference is that she'd still have her wedding ring in that AU cuz both her and Talbott would still be happily married after all those years lol

After showing off Reina's staff, I wanted to include Ricardo's as well. His main theme is clouds and rainbows, and yes, those are real clouds on his staff lol I wanted to include some rainbows but thought it'd cause potential eye strain and look trashy, so I went with a nice pastel color scheme instead. The colors on the right are the same colors as his wand. The clouds also represent Ricardo's latent dream-based magic.

Story stuff below for anyone interested!

Story-wise, Ricardo received his own spellbook and crystal wand as a gift after he met Reina for the first time in his 3rd year. He kept it a secret from everyone except Dumbledore, knowing he (Ricardo) had access to new magic that would aid him greatly with the vaults. His talent for spell creation was also a definite plus.

While his wand did transform into a staff after he turned 15, he didn't have a chance to use it much. His 5th year was filled with misfortune starting with Olivia's sudden disappearance on their second week of September, Duncan's death in early November, his own subsequent expulsion the following month, and then his disappearance the following February.

He would create a duplicate of his crystal wand for Reina to find in his private room later on in her 3rd year.

Some OC practice featuring Val, the main protagonist of my future webcomic called Earth 14. This was done in Clip Studio for the iPad and while I like the end result, I still ended up not too happy with it. Personally I found the sketch of it on the right to look better lol Does anyone else ever have those days where you feel your sketch is better than the final result? I went ahead and did the lining and coloring on a few other drawing programs to see if it led to different results, and those will be covered in a separate post.

Now some details on Val for those that don’t know:

-Was born on Halloween.

-Grew up in Sky City, a fictional location in Ontario, Canada.

-Is fine with any pronouns. I personally use she/hir for them.

-Is 22 at the start of the story.

-Associated with the element of Void.

-Specializes in what is known as the Void Aspect (the story has 8 total). Void Aspect includes magics related to darkness, the moon and the night, as well as Demons.

-Took a massive risk in order to bring closure to hir family and hirself, which had been denied to them just about everywhere else.

-Val’s main job is to investigate and break the curses being used by cultists on innocent civilians across the universe.

-In terms of personality, Val is very blunt and honest, not really caring for one’s feelings, as referenced on the pic above.

-If you’ve wronged hir in any way, don’t expect any forgiveness if it was particularly bad. She wasn’t always like this.

-In the HPHM AU, she would be Ricardo’s grandchild and Reina’s grand-niece. Hir Animagus form would likely be a crow.

-Reina and Talbott’s quads would be hir big cousins. That’s how they’d treat each other, anyway.

-Would’ve been born on October 31, 2009.

My next pic for my OC-Tober featuring my OC Philly. Although the pose and bag proved to be rather tricky for me, I absolutely adore the final result. I need to give my other ocs more love much more often lol. Bottom right pic is her older design. Knowing me she might get another slight redesign but for now I love this current one. I originally intended for her dress to have more bunny patterns like the stars behind her, but I couldn’t get the effect I wanted. I ultimately went with adding the prints much larger and along her skirt. Sometimes less is more.

Something I started the other day and finished earlier today. I gave myself a prompt to help me break out of art block.

Prompt: Give any of your characters a transformation/upgrade based on their powers.

Think how most anime protagonists gain a new form that comes with powers they don’t have the hang of just yet. 

Since Val’s main elements are night, darkness and void, it’s what I went with regarding hir transformation and color scheme. Drawing at the bottom right of the second pic could be interpreted as hir either powering up or returning back to normal. The staff was my favorite part to design. I absolutely plan on doing more. 

I’ve had Reina’s planned first for a long time, but Val’s is the one I officially drew out first. Reina’s will be based on love, empathy and fire.
