Geralt turned to Eskel as the sword practice finished and started to tell him what had happened at court when his was attention was snapped back to the courtyard as the woman squealed and Letho caught her as she went down.
He started to rise but Eskel stopped him, “just keep watching.”
Even from this distance Geralt saw the moment when the woman, suddenly alert, winked at Letho and with a speed and strength that belied her smaller size, threw him onto his back and pinned him then sat up giggling. He caught Letho’s growl before he flipped her, and watched them tumble in the dust for a minute before it became clear Letho had won and was helping the woman to her feet, although it was hard to tell whether the victory was through better technique or because the woman was laughing too much to breathe.
Geralt couldn’t help but smile slightly as the pair moved over to join them, the woman still chuckling and covered in dust as she sat on the floor at Letho’s feet while the Viper settled himself directly opposite Eskel. Geralt nodded at Letho in greeting, “Kingslayer”
“Wolf”
“Kingslayer!” the woman exclaimed attracting Letho’s attention, “Do I even want to know?”
“Doubt it,” Letho rumbled before looking back to Geralt, “this is Lily. Lily, Geralt of Rivia.”
