Something that strikes me about Dimension 20 series is their stance on revenge. They don't hold up a finger and say revenge doesn't solve anything. They don't act wise and go "if you murder a murderer the number of murderers in the world stays the same."
Sometimes part of taking your life back is punching your abusive father who tried to wipe your mind and your personality, who wanted to kill you in order to have a more "desireble" and "presentable" daughter to death. Sometimes that is an indesputable good and correct thing.
Sometimes growing up and learning your mother never loved or cared for you, who abandoned you and took all the love you deserved when you were little with her, to the point where you had to be your own caretaker and your own kindness leads to you cleaving her in half in the middle of a fancy party with your friends cheering you on.
Sometimes the person that screwed you over for their own gains does not deserve you turning the other cheek, she deserves to rot in hell and you and her mother deserve better.
Sometimes obliterating the one who murdered your sisters and your daughter, who tried to kill you for their own gain and wanted your downfall is exactly what needs to happen.
Sometimes burning down a house of abuse and destruction who thinks raising children involves beatings and hot pokers is the best thing you can do to a place.
Revenge does not have to be a self destructive act of trying to even the odds. It isn't a bad deed. It isn't voilence breeding more violence.
There are times where you have to strike back, even towards someone in your family. Because if you don't, your silence implies that what they did does not warrant stopping them from doing it again. And I think that is a message we need sometimes.
The good side of revenge.
