This Day is publish’d,
A Help to true Spelling and Reading: Or, a very easy Method for the Teaching Children, or Elder Persons, rightly to spell, and exactly to read English; wherein most of the Words in our English Bible are brought under several Rules: By the Help whereof, with God’s Blessing, Children may be brought on with delight, and taught in much less time than is usual, distinctly to read the Holy Scriptures. Here are also the chief Principles of Religion, laid down in a plain and easy Metre; tending (through the co-operation of God’s Spirit) to the awakening and convincing Children of their lost undone Condition by Nature, and to the persuading of them to close savingly with Christ betimes. To which is added, a Scriptural Catechism, and some other things very useful for Children to learn. By Wm. Scoffin. The 3d Edition. Printed for R. Ford, at the Angel in the Poultry.
