Summer is here and it certainly was HOT! It's been a busy time in the AVO camp with many varied projects, and a few personal moments.
I say it best, when I say nothing at all- here are the pics.
Avollusion supplied the media servers and operation crew for the Luminous-led production of the Audi A8 Launch.
-------
The lovely folks at PMQ gave us a space to work with- so we put together with the crew from Laundromatte a Projection Mapping Demo- a journey into spacial illusion. Please check out the link:

We took a trip to Macau with the 3500 staff from Flight Centre, a Haycom and CI events extravaganza. The thought of 3500 punters in onesies is enough for nightmares!! A crazy crazy weekend, with headliners Jessie Jay and Will.i.am
The next event deserves a whole new post by itself...
stand by.
For Art's sake
19 May, 2014
It's been a hectic week as usual with some varied projects coming our way.
The annual Art Basel exhibition in Hong Kong has seen a kickstart in Art fever! Avollusion did a cool display for Instagram- it took posts from Instagram's specific hashtag and posted in on the large video feed. and yes, we tried to get on there as much as possible!
3/4 of the team are in sunny Pattaya, Thailand for a week-long conference/gala dinners for one of our favourite clients.
Here's one of the cool venues:
We love a good temple!
CATCH UP TIME
28 April, 2014
Wow, everyone here at AVO cannot believe that it's already April! It's been a hectic year already, with many interesting projects. Here's some highlights:
Our friends at Activation Group produced an amazing Bereau Betak Creative on the waterfront of West Kowloon. Avollusion provided the projection with our Christie Projectors and Hippotizer HD units onto a 60m wide x 5mHigh surface. Here's a short video of the spectacular event!

KC @ Hippo control!
--------------------------------
We travelled to Delhi India, where we looked after the board meeting for advertising giants Ogilvy & Mather- great food, great client, great show! Locking in 2 more huge events in the next 2 years, watch this space for exciting locations!
-----------------------------------------------
Our creative friends at Tuff produced an amazing Jewellery show for local brand Chow Tai Fook, transforming the Grand Hyatt ballroom into Angkor Wat. Take us away to Cambodia!
----------------------------------------------
When you are away from your desk for extended periods, it is always a good idea to get someone to clean it, otherwise mould tends to grow. Fast.
I'll leave you with a pic of our awesome CNY dinner. Highly recommend Megan's Kitchen in Wan chai for some tasty hotpot!
Time to take a Breath
It feels like since the start of the year til now, we have been jumping from event to event to event and so on. They say it's good to be busy! We'll have to believe them.
The AVO crew has been spread throughout the region and beyond in the past few months with events taking place in Singapore, Shanghai, Chengdu & even FIJI.
It's a great feeling to know that our clients we meet in Hong Kong want to take us with them when they cross the oceans. Or you know, seas.
As always, here are some pictures of a small percentage of the event's we have been involved in recently:
-Ogilvy & Mather's Global Board Meeting in Chengdu, China-
-Tuff's Chow Tai Fook Fashion Show & Dinner in Hong Kong-
-Serious Event's INET Conference in Hong Kong-
-METRO ECCOSE's RBS Conference in Singapore-
-Currently the only picture we're allowed to post from Fiji.... Go Hippo's Go!-
-BL in several places at once during Tuff's Keith Haring & Retna Art Exhibition during Art Basel Hong Kong-
-Luminous EMC's Prudential Opening Cocktail Reception-
Here's a photo I like a lot:
-Before, During & After Brandbeat's Chivas 18 Private Party-
And to wrap this up, here's some photo's of Team AVO doing our thing and misbehaving...mainly misbehaving...
See ya soon.
Fueled Up!
There's something about Kyoto that makes it okay to be intensively labouring away on a demanding high profile event. I think it was the thought that outside the confines of the venue walls, was a place where the world of the future married so well with centuries of rich culture & tradition.
As you can tell, I am already nostalgic for my new favourite place on planet Earth, but this isn't a travel blog. So on with the event!
We recently teamed up again with advertising giants Ogilvy to put on their Asia Pacific regional meeting. For those of you who don't know who Ogilvy are, we like to think of them as the real world Mad Men. So needless to say we spent the duration of the show figuring out who Ogilvys' Don Draper is.
As always, photo's speak best:
This is a view from 'tech heaven' down and across the room where the main sessions took place. Nine projections and four comfort monitors, plus a multitude of routing options to program = official challenge issued to VX team.
This is the back garden of the venue, aka, the Kyoto countryside. Not a bad place for a tech's smoke break.
The gala dinner took place at the Kyoto Concert Hall. In the entrance foyer, we set up a great Japanese folk indie-rock band called: Dry River String. Really talented and extremely polite.
Our friends Buddhiston, who are just as fantastic in an acoustic format, playing the concert stage which was also part of one of the more fun gala event's we'll be part of.
These guys rocked in so many different ways. The Neatbeats
Unfortunately, as you can see from my extremely poor quality photographs, the bands all lost in the battle vs a jaw-dropping buffet and an ice bar, which was where most of the Ogilvy staff had established camp during the time of the performances. As quite a few of us here at Avollusion play in indie bands, we were really thrilled about the idea that Ogilvy wanted to support local Japanese talent and chose these bands as their entertainment. Nice one Ogs.
There was limited downtime, but there was enough for us to fall in love with the town and the popular streets of the Gion area.
On our first night out, we found a couple of tiny wardrobe sized punk-rock loving dive bars, just big enough to fit our team in.
So another large event for a headline name client. Here's hoping we travel with them again next time!
