“I can’t let you control us, okay? I just can’t.”
“I’m finishing what she started, Inova.”
Inova sighs as he looks at his eyes in the mirror, the red of his left eye glaring harshly at him as his other halves’ voice growls from their shared throat.
“She started this mess when she made me-us. When she did what she did, she sealed her fate.”
“She had her punishment. Why not just forget it? We don’t have to forgive her, but forgetting gives us so much over her.”
The robots’ left-hand grips the sink counter tighter, the marble almost threatening to crack under his tight grip. The left corner of his mouth twitches upwards as the red pupil shrinks.
“Forget? I'll never forget! Not what she did! You’re damn right I won't forgive her, but I’m not letting her get off that easily! Some fines, a little jail time, banned from buying robot parts, that's such a small price to pay! She put m-us through hell! You may want to forget that, and I don’t care if you do, but I will never forget, and I will make sure she never forgets either. If you’d just give me a body-”
“And let you wreak havoc on Vinyl City? Let you run around causing damage, all while looking like me? Fuck no I’m not doing that! You’re lucky I even let you out during the night as it is. I could delete you, you parasite.” Inova barks as his right fist hits the counter, “You’re lucky I’m even letting you plead your case after the shit you’ve pulled, Avoni.”
As he looks into the mirror, his other half remains silent.
Then slowly, his left half starts to smile.
“Delete me? Delete me?? Ohohoho my dear stupid goodie two shoes half, if you could just delete me, you would’ve done it ages ago! You and I both know that if I was to go, I would drag a chunk of your code with me. Every good villain knows better than to bargain without holding a trap card. The only way you’re getting rid of me without maiming yourself in the process is to give. Me. A. Body. Just one measly little body out of the hundreds I know are stored in that giant flying factory.”
“It doesn’t even have to look like you, I could give less of a shit about what I look like as long as I get to wrap my hands around that bitchs’ throat-”
“Enough!” The robot snaps as he slams his right fist into the mirror, cracks spidering out from the point of contact. Inova sighs as he feels control seeping back into the left half of himself, as Avoni retreats into his subconscious once again. Still, he could hear the others grumbling.
“Yeesh, did you have to punch the mirror? Neons gonna be pissed, and you’re already on thin ice as it is ever since you came back. I’m surprised he left you home alone tonight.”
“Neon can suck my dick. You know why I’m back. But I’m done with this conversation. You’re pushing my damn buttons.”
A deep chuckle echoes in Inovas mind, radiating smugness as the other replies, “Oh you and I both know there's more to it. But fine, fine, I’ll keep it down. I’ll get my time to shine eventually.”
“You gotta recharge at some point. And I’ll have my fun then.”
As he feels Avoni’s presence retreat even farther, Inova lets out a sigh as he moves away from the counter and exits the bathroom. His footsteps are muffled by the carpet adorning the floors of the long, lit hallway as he heads to the kitchen.
“Damn glitch…” Inova softly says as he steps into the kitchen.
It’s been a stressful night. He may as well bake something for the others when they get back.
