this story is 100% real, ask my mom

okay so like, sometime last year, I had gone to get my undercut cleaned up before heading to publix w/ my mom to pick up some mini cannoli and like

when we first got there, there was an older man running the counter, and he had to go into the back or w/e to get more since there were only like 3 left in the front, so he asked another guy working to watch the register while he got more

and like, ok, legit, when we made eye contact, it was like one of those fucking scenes in an anime where the MC sees his love interest for the first time and there’s glitter n roses n shit in the bg

but irl and no special effects

legit, it felt like such a long time, but it was only a second or two– when I talked to my mom about it later, she told me she could feel the connection between us and wondered if she should have left us alone and I was like LMAO (he was rly cute tho I’m lowkey mad I’m 1) 100% gay and 2) didn’t get his name or smth smh)

but as he was helping us get our stuff, it was like he didn’t even notice my mom there at all it was honestly such an experience and when we were done w/ paying, he handed me the box and like, lingered there for a few seconds longer than you’d normally do in an exchange and told me, specifically, to have a nice day (all this going on while he was looking awe-struck I was so flattered but as figuratively sweating)

I wonder if he still works at publix’s bakery :oc
