Can’t say no

“It’s really not that hard to put the books back in their...” Jinwoo trails off as someone walks by, a flush creeping up the back of his neck at the thought of a student overhearing his mumbling of frustration.
He clears his throat as he wedges the book into its rightful place, turning his head to the side slightly to see if the coast is clear before mumbling out more complaints. There isn’t much he can really complain about when it comes to this job. The hours are reasonable, it feeds his two cats, he has access to plenty of materials that most students have no idea even exist, but most importantly, there is minimal physical contact with others. He can hide behind his desk at peak hours, reducing the chances of bumping into someone. He knows the ins and outs of this library, the perfect places for Jinwoo to camp out in until the crowds disperse. Being a librarian is the perfect job for someone like him, minus the glaringly obvious fact. It’s a bore.
Jinwoo sighs as he pushes the cart in between two shelves, skimming over the codes on the bottom of the books.
Chemical engineering, how mundane.
As he places another book onto the shelf, he allows his mind to wander, to experience the emotions that surround him. Some are stronger than others, the typical university students stressing over their research papers, or the joy emitting from the group of girls giggling around their laptops. He lets a smile slip on to his face as he immerses himself into the variants of feelings, instinct taking over as he focuses on trying to differentiate them all. This job giving him the perfect time to practice doing what he does best, being himself.
