“Nonsense,” he chided lightly, slipping himself out of his coat without a second thought towards the matter. “I appreciate your concern, Charity, however you need my coat far more than I do. I will be fine,” Ignis insisted gently, lightly wrapping his coat around her shoulders.
He’d grown up here, so he was quite used to Insomnia’s cold winters. Not to mention his shirt underneath was a bit thicker than normal, so to him, he was fine without his coat. “I am more concerned about you staying warm.”
The Most Dangerous Game
{ @a-vulparia }
♔—- As a mature siren, Loki understood quite well how dangerous men could be. While Loki was a predator of human flesh--as were most of his kin due to their biological need to feast upon surface dwellers--a risk always existed when interacting with them. For the most part, humans possessed weak wills that would make it impossible for them to resist the sweet melody of a siren’s song. Loki had never actually faced a land-walker that he found to be particularly frightening or threatening.
But he’d seen and heard stories of others like him who were captured by men. When humans were given proof that a creature such as a siren could exist, they made a habit of purposefully trying to catch them. Some harvested their tails and scales to show off to their peers and make fine jewelry from. Others were even kept as slaves or living displays. He’d heard more than his fair share of horror stories where humans imprisoned sirens in glass tanks full of seawater and put them on display for the entire world to see.
Caution was something that could never be overlooked and, for a long time, Loki never underestimated the ability of those he hunted and even mingled with. The number of humans he bedded far outweighed the number of humans he’d consumed. Not to mention, he loved exploring the surface world under the impression that he was, in fact, a human. He studied them and how they functioned in day-to-day life and he never once made a mistake while interacting with them.
Until that fateful day.
It was raining. The dark grey clouds hung so thickly in the sky that even at midday the sun couldn’t be seen poking through the atmosphere. A bitter chill hung in the air and the waves whipped violently with the forceful winds. It wasn’t the best day for a siren to venture up to the surface but Loki’s hunger drove him to go hunting for someone--anyone--that might curb his starvation. Sometimes he went far too long without a proper meal due to his love of humans and their rich cultures, but even he couldn’t avoid a meal forever.
And he’d been foolish enough to think that due to the harsh weather, no humans would be out at sea. Fishermen wouldn’t catch anything in these choppy waters and any other vessel would have very little reason to stay stationary. He’d been careless in thinking that he didn’t need to pay attention and thanks to the horrible lighting caused by the lack of sunlight, Loki found himself tangled in a giant net hidden in the darkness of the sea. He hadn’t even seen the rope snare until it was too late.
“I THINK WE CAUGHT SOMETHING!” he heard someone shout, the voice muffled by the rain and the fact that he was still beneath the water. Loki attempted to cut himself free but his teeth were built for ripping apart flesh, not rope, and despite his strength, he could not break through the patchwork. His thrashing, however, was enough to not only rock the boat the net attached to, but drag it further out to sea.
“We definitely caught something big! Pull it in before it drags us halfway to China, would you?” another man growled and suddenly the net rose closer and closer to the surface. The bottom of the boat came into view and soon enough, Loki was hugged out of the safety of the waves completely. The sailors dropped him on the deck of the boat but his tail was so long, it still hung off the edge and the tip remained submerged. Still, Loki trashed in an attempt to break free of the net. He’d have to kill them all so they didn’t rush back to shore and show him off, kill him, or tell others about what they’d seen...
“Holy shit,” a third man muttered, his eyes bulging from his head at the sight of the siren with such a massive tail. “That can’t be what I think it is...”
“You aren’t blind,” Loki hissed, his tail beating against the side of the boat with enough force to send the small crew stumbling across the deck. “Now, release me immediately or you shall all suffer the consequences!”
“I don’t think so,” the first man hissed. “You’ll make us a fortunate. You two, pull his tail up and secure him down so he can’t trash about anymore. We’re not letting this one escape.”
"My freedom is not for sale." (a-vulparia)
“Quidem.” He spoke softly, his voice warm. “I would not presume such a thing of you. You do not look like the sort of woman that would enjoy being kept inside polished halls like a pet.” His smile was coy, but of course, by the look in those green eyes, it was obvious he had no intent of making her such a thing. The Emperor could have his concubines… Rome’s taste was a little different.
“But tell me then… What does a woman of your taste want?”

“My dear, I hold no guilt over my actions. I have come to terms with everything I had done. You cast those things aside to do what it takes to survive. Pain fades, for some faster than others. That hurt, that anger, it clouds your judgment. But allowing emotions to control one’s thoughts, there are times where there is no place for such things,” she responded placidly as she poured a glass of wine.

6. Your character walking in on mine kissing a stranger. (HOO SHIT. Maybe before Charity confessed to Wolf!Jay?)
Jay was still rather dizzy from kissing the girl he was with when she moved away, apparently alarmed by the sudden entrance of another person into his room. It took him a while to realize his best friend was the unlikely perpetrator, his face turning pink as he realized what she just witnessed. “O-oh, hey dude. Um…” Quick, try to be casual! “How you doing?” Maybe too casual? Certainly didn’t make a good impression on the girl, who seemed to alternate between glaring at him and Charity.

Send 💔 for a interrupted kiss.
Charity looked like she had been worrying all day about something, raving on and on about something that he didn’t quite bother to take note of once he tuned her out. God, she needed to relax, and he knew just how to do it. He pulled her in by the back of her neck and pressed his lips to hers, not letting go until she had stopped mumbling. The kiss was deep and would have knocked him breathless too, and once it was over, he gave her an amused look, “Ya talk too much.”
