Last week, I was opportune to attend the @ICC-YAF and @ciarbymgnigeria joint training on the A-Z of international Arbitration. The highlights for me include: Carefully drafting Arbitration agreements to reflect the seat of #Arbitration; indicating the importance of Confidentiality in the agreement; importance of the Seat of Arbitration in #Awardwriting; duty of the Arbitrator not to rely on personal knowledge but to give parties an opportunity to present their case; conflict of interest in arbitration; setting procedural matters and Case Management Conference; persuading the Arbitrator through a Request for or reply to a request for an Arbitration; and drafting a good affidavit and written address in support of #Challenging or #Enforcing an #ArbitralAward. There were also group tasks which made the sessions more practical. As usual, Isaiah Bozimo got us hooked with his slides. Kudos to the organisers and speakers for sharing in their wealth of knowledge. https://www.instagram.com/p/B4z_bcNlM2hsYmmVc82Eq1UDKvq7IEzMkhRKBw0/?igshid=qton6lq4u934
