“I’m sorry, my cell phone data coverage does not cover the bullshit zone you’re in.”
Jeff blushed, looking away as Riley chastised him for being stupid in her own special way. “You know, I think I liked it better when you were railing on me for losing to you at videogames.” Which was saying a lot because there had been a lot of pouting involved on his part, and maybe some cursing. He admitted to neither. Glancing up at her again and catching the look she was giving him he got more serious. “Okay, so yeah, I’m into him. Like really into him, is that what you want to hear?” He asked, knowing that’s what she’d been prodding him for since they left the hotdog stand. “I just don’t know if I want to take it there with Elliott. I kind of messed things up between us in the past and it took a lot just to make up for that. Like on the level of getting him a record deal kind of thing.” He explained, giving her a pleading look not to start with him again. This was Riley though, so if anything he was just giving her more ammo. “Some things are better left untouched. Like Pigzilla when he’s in the middle of eating, know what I mean?”
