I bought this book a little over a year ago, but just got to reading it recently. It is such a great book not just for current leaders but more so for potential leaders to provide a more realistic preview of how it is being a leader. i had to control myself to limit my reading so I can also rest and do other stuff. It is a very timely read for my current season as well with all the things happening around me - family, ministry, work. I wish I had read this book 10 years ago so the pains I have encountered would be more bearable and with less tears. But God is never late and never early, He is always on time. So, aja! :)
i love this part of the book when Sam Chand said -- “pain. If you’re not hurting, you’re not leading. Your vision for the future has to be big enough to propel you to face the heartaches and struggles you’ll find along the way.”
One thing that continues to encourage and motivate me to press on is my super awesome and amazing Heavenly Father, my God & my Lord. All these things I do, is not just for earthly masters but for my Ultimate Boss of all - GOD. I truly believe that everything happens for a reason and a purpose. There are no mistakes with the people we meet and encounter. They are meant to be part of our lives, to help us, teach us lessons or for us to be that instrument that God wants to use as for for their lives. Pain, if you’re not hurting, you’re not leading.. and you are not growing as well. The hurts, the pains are part of the process & the journey for us to GROW.
Lessons, learnings, character building, changes, etc. There is nothing else bigger than the future and that vision of being with the Lord at the end of everything.. and everything for the Lord is always worth it.
How about you? What do you live for? Who do you live for? The pains you are going through right now, are they all worth it? As for me, I live for God and yes all the pains... no matter how difficult and challenging they may seem are all worth it in the end. All praises, honor and glory to God!
2 For the Lord Most High is awesome. He is the great King of all the earth.
