Thomas closed his eyes and went back to sleep.

Thomas opened his eyes at around 12 in the afternoon to his phone blowing up.

“[Puts phone on speaker] Yes?” Thomas said as he answered the phone.

“Thomas, it’s your mother, how are you?” A female voice rang out.

“Oh. Hi Mother, all is well, how are you?” Thomas said as forced as he could.

“I’m glad, I hope you’re free in 3 weeks, if not you're cancelling your plans!” His mother said.

“Oh yeah, the yearly meet up with the family…” Thomas sighed.

“I hope you’ve been able to find a lovely person with you as a date! I don’t want to be embarrassed anymore.” His mother said sharply.

“Oh? [coughs] Of- of course, I’ve got a date, mother who do you take me for?” Thomas lied blatantly.

“Good! Took you long enough, now bye-bye, I’m visiting in 3 days time, so you can tell me all about them!” His mother said excitedly.

“Oh, oh yes of course!” Thomas faked his excitement.

As his mother hung up the phone, Thomas threw himself onto his bed.

“It’s far too fucking early for this.” He cursed
