See Me In All My Hidden Fury
It occurs to me now that you don’t know me awfully well.
When rage was broiling beneath my skin, all you felt was the ground shake where you were.
Elsewhere I was spewing ash into the sky, fire, molten rock, smoke and dust.
You saw dark clouds once, and thought the heavens might be angry.
Elsewhere I was seething.
It occurs to me now that you don’t know me awfully well.
When pain, insipid, rancid, hurt was shifting in my joints, you heard lightning crack.
Elsewhere, I was pushing waves over and against shore lines.
You saw dark clouds once and thought the heavens might be angry.
Elsewhere I was seething.
