I've asked this question many times to many people but no-one has ever replied. I am biracial (black/white), but I'm so light-skinned that I have all the passing privilege. My HAIR though is mixed-texture and the easiest (and most aesthetically pleasing imo) way for me to wear it long and keep it nice is by putting it in locs. Is this cultural appropriation? Do I have "white people dreads?" I just...I don't want to be a jerk, but...I also love my hair.
I’m not really the best person to ask about this so I’m gonna try to patch you through to some of my more qualified followers cuz i dont wanna spew some shit but my initial reaction is that it’s not the same because like white people hair doesnt even loc naturally they have to do all types of disgusting shit to it to make it even do that so its obvious that their hair isnt even meant to do that and they have no ties to the cultural significance of locs
but im gonna tag some people nevertheless
