omgg some bridges pleasee (that fic has my heart!!!)
And some awg 2, if it's okay🥺
PS: the last bridges chapter was sooo cuteee. I can just see Magnus's walls come down with every interaction
I'm so glad your liked the last chapter! I am still so pleased there were so many people who seemed to enjoy it (and even more pleased that so many people mentioned the children's book, I was worried people wouldn't like it when I wrote it).
Leaving a slightly evil cliffhanger for the Bridges snippet!
Magnus sits down across from him, his legs stretched out while an internal struggle plays out behind his eyes. For a long minute, Alec believes the warlock has forgotten he's even in the room. His entire focus seems to be on his entwined fingers, chest barely moving as he mulls things over in his head, until, with a deep sigh-- "Tell me, Alexander, what do you know about the Circle?"
Aaand here is some AWG2. I changed some of my ideas for the next chapter. I was struggling with having it happen right after Alec's rune ceremony, so it will now be several days later:
Alec knew his parents would try to take him aside as soon as he'd made the choice to reveal his soul mark to the Clave. Part of him expected them to corner him even before his ceremony was over, especially when he decided to reveal his and Magnus' relationship to all of the Clave's higher ups. The fact he gets two days to himself before his mother finally takes him aside is far more than he expected. Still, Alec knows his luck had to run out at some point. "Alec, can we talk." It's not a question. His mother's face is an expressionless mask when she takes him aside, her stance that of the trained soldier, her voice that of the ice-cold commander. And yet, Alec can't help but see something that nearly looks like uncertainty when her eyes flicker over to Madzie. "Alone."
