Summary:

The thing, the creature, Arahabaki, growls low and rumbling like the motor driving them forward. Chuuya’s scowl deepens and Dazai only sighs, dramatic resignation. It won’t attack. They’d figured out soon enough after they’d approach it that it seems only interested in doing so when it comes to Chuuya.

Dazai? Less so.

Disgustingly, borderline creepily, less so.

Summary:

“Oh.” The last inch of the noodle disappears into his mouth with the noise. It must be quiet, no louder than the small slurping noise Chuuya had been making, because the sight before him doesn’t startle.

There’s a fox, slender and pale red, almost brown, sitting directly in front of him.

Chuuya, as the latest medium for Arahabaki, is forced to move to a remote village. Mori tells him it's because the shrine there will be particularly good for contacting Arahabaki. Mori doesn't tell him about the kitsune who also lives there.

this is my (somewhat late oop) @bungoustraydogsgiftexchange fic for @ikizais! i hope you like it, i had a lot of fun writing it!! <3

He can’t look at Galo. He doesn’t want to, not right now. Not when he feels like a storm ready to set fire to something, anything, maybe even—

No. Lio doesn’t want to think about that.

So when he finds himself standing in the middle of his room, fists clenching and unclenching by his sides, he definitely doesn’t think about how easily the floor to ceiling curtains and comfiest bed sheets he’s ever had, both from Galo when he’d first moved in, would blaze fierce with the slightest flicker.

Lio isn't adjusting very well to the loss of the promare.

Summary:

Chuuya looks at his watch one last time, the latest in many that have been destroyed since he’s unofficially reunited as Soukoku.

It’s the latest, but it’s also the first one that Dazai’s bought for Chuuya himself. He must have stolen it or, more likely, pulled in a favour to get it. Not only is it far too expensive for a detective agency’s salary, but Chuuya is sure Dazai must have had something done to it. Every now and again, as if by clockwork, it starts running too quickly and Chuuya has to recalibrate it. It’s become something of a habit for Chuuya, glancing down to check on it whenever things are slow. In fact, he’d been doing just that when the news had come.

He thinks it’s Dazai’s way of taunting him even when they’re apart. Or just reminding Chuuya that Dazai exists. Chuuya thinks they’re one in the same though.

It’s an expensive make though, and Chuuya really is sick of buying new ones himself. So he’d kept it. And if he glances down at it, it’s just to make sure it’s running properly.

19 minutes. It’s a good thing he never got a better one anyway. It’ll be his last. Chuuya lets go to Corruption.
