#my art #ayvurtu oey #awlun #se'txelu #lì'fya leNa'vi #still experimenting with this shading style. there are aspects of it I like but also things that definitely need some refining #also tried using a dot brush for the sanhì. not sure how I feel about it #definitely saves a lot of time but the result feels a little too...mechanical. not organic #there was a different brush I was trying too but that one had the opposite problem; the dots were too scattered to make the precise pattern #refining the settings improved it but couldn't quite get to where I wanted #I need one that's like. in-between. idk

Na'vi OC family tree!

...and yes, Neynari and Se'txelu's children have standard coloration. Because you see, both their mutations are recessive. Which means that in order for the trait to show up in the phenotype, you need to inherit a copy of it from BOTH parents. And Neynari and Se'txelu don't carry each other's mutations. soooo while their kids would be carriers for both conditions, it'd be impossible for any of them to actually show it themselves lol

#the designs of mingal zalu and ko'ya are all potentially subject to change though #the three of them have existed as concepts in my head for a while now but this is the first time putting them on paper #and I had only a very very vague idea of what I wanted them to look like #BUT ANYWAYS #my art #neynari #se'txelu #rolukx #seylana #vontxu #tanu #lunaya #awlun #mingal #zalu #ko'ya #ayvurtu oey #the “?” characters only exist as names right now. no real concepts beyond that #and I ONLY know their names because of the way na'vi full names work ¯\_(ツ)_/¯#i know the full names of all the properly designed characters and therefore I know the first names of one of their parents #plus their father's surname #and if I know the name I might as well put it on the tree right ¯\_(ツ)_/¯#oh yeah and also btw Rolukx is older than Se'txelu; I only put Se'txelu in front to make him easier to link to Neynari lol

some rough concept sketches for Awlun's husband, olo'eyktan of the Anurai in my little OC setting (~300 years before canon), tentatively named Zawnu'uk (name is still potentially subject to change, along with some design refining - we'll see).

OC lineup! All the characters that currently exist in this "story"

#some small details may be subject to change #others might also be added to the “story” later #for example a while ago I was thinking maybe Rolukx and Se'txelu also have a sister because why not #tentatively named her Mingal and she'd be a teenager in the default timeline #(for reference at that time Se'txelu and Neynari are in their early 20s and Rolukx in his late 20s)#but she doesn't have a particular design yet and I haven't decided on many details #me being me i will also prooooobably give Neynari and Se'txelu some kids of their own at some point but again so specific ideas just yet #maybe even give rolukx a love interest #for personal reasons i can't decide whether it would be more cathartic to give him one or to not give him one #idk we'll see #also btw since this is chibi style don't take it as a 100% accurate height comparison lol #fwiw on that front I think Seylana and Neynari are a bit shorter than average #Rolukx is slightly taller than average #and everyone else is pretty solidly Average™ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯#also for those who didn't catch it in my previous post about these guys: Awlun is Lunaya's aunt (Awlun's brother is Lunaya's father)#hence the shared surname #also Seylana is not naturally blond; she started coloring her hair after Neynari was born to match her daughter #(there are canon Aranahe characters with hair like this such as Sa'nop and Nilngan)#(and yes I suspect it's artifical color because the tail tufts are still black. hence Seylana's tail tuft still being her natural color too #ANYWAYS #yeah #my art #neynari #se'txelu #rolukx #seylana #vontxu #awlun #lunaya #ayvurtu oey
