RINA wants to find the true killer. LIRAN wants to get the job done.

IN THE CITY OF Cadian, there are only three kinds of people. The law enforcers, those who follow the law, and those who don’t. Rina falls in the last category. Having been on the run for three years, they aren’t going to be brought in now. Not when they are so close to having figured out who framed them for the terrible crime that killed the city’s most prominent superstar, Cassidy. When the government hires Liran to be placed on Rina’s trail, things quickly become complicated. Liran questions the true meaning behind going after Rina. And Rina questions their heart.

Sometimes, you have to look into the shadows to find your answer.

“Are you kidding me?” I hiss, staring at the screen, playing grainy footage of a news reporter. “They’re sending a mercenary after me.” I fling myself onto a couch and let out a prolonged groan.

“GOVERNMENT HIRES KNOWN MERCENARY JING LIRAN TO CAPTURE RINA ZHAO, MAIN SUSPECT OF THE MURDER INVOLVING MEGASTAR CASSIDY TAN”, the scrolling headline reads. Just great. I stuff a pillow over my head, wishing it would all just disappear.

No matter what the news said, I did not kill Cassidy Tan.

horror & sorrow, feel the fear; the sea of vyl part three

can you feel it, the pain, the sorrow, the emptiness, that flows through you; or maybe you can't, because the curse is working; how about the horror, the shock, the numbness that spreads through you; or are you lost, because she's looking at you with those bloodred eyes; or maybe you can't bring yourself to care, because there's no point in caring anymore, is there;

the lighthouse mocks you, with its abandoned state; it sees you, in all its ruined glory; the lighthouse hears you, hears your silent scream, hears it fly by on the wind; it is you, but it's not you; the faerie of aklindow's laughing, smiling, she's draining you, taking your life force, removing all that makes you you;

feel the terror, child, she hisses, feel the fear, watch it all go away, you are my creature; no one will mourn you, no one will remember, who will cry for you; you are nothing, you are everything, you are mine; you will run into the woods, you will not emerge, you will hide and hide, you won't want to be seen; no one will save you, who will bother;

you are drowning, floating, breathing, suffocating; you are nothing and you are everything; she pulls you close, almost like a hug, and yet it is anything but; my creature, her servant, forever, for eternity, there is no end, no beginning, only now; you are gone, are lost, hidden, maybe dead;

the waves are coming in, faster, deeper, fiercer, wilder; sucking at your feet, dragging you out to sea, consuming you with a fury; go, laughs the faerie of aklindow, go, and see how far you get; run, you try to run, you try to flee, but all you can do is stand there; stand there and do nothing, stand and stare in horror;

stare as she stops the wind, the sudden disappearance jarring to your senses; you got used to it whipping at your hair, your clothes; but where did your clothes go, why are you in this cloak; my creature, the faerie of aklindow hisses, again, and again, and again; my creature forever, for eternity;

you cannot run, child; a curse is a curse; a promise is a promise, no matter how dark; you have ruined my name, took it for your own, took it as a toy; now you pay the price, your price, the price that is eternal servitude;

pay the toll and lose yourself, lose all that is you, lose all the dreams and wishes; horror and sorrow shall fill you, consume you, overflow within you; feel the fear yet, child, she asks, the wind gathering, swirling, spiralling, around her; horror and sorrow and fear and hopelessness and despair and pain; this is it, then, you think hollowly;

this is how you will die and be reborn with her as your master.

WTW PLANET PROMPTS - DAY 1 // MECURY: LOCATIONS

welcome to the kingdom of elysia , the larger kingdom on the planet of kielya.

The Kingdom of Elysia was formed as a result of many towns and farms uniting under a single banner — the Orleauxes’ — and was named after the root word “elysian”, which means “relating to or characteristic of heaven or paradise”. The Kingdom aimed to provide a safe haven for all who were loyal, and has held to this promise — or, well, and idea of it, at least — for the past few centuries. Along with the technological advances of the Kingdom as well as that of other dimensions, it has evolved into a place of worship and science, old and new, all melded together into one piece of intricate clockwork.

Interviewer: So, Your Highnesses, what is your opinion on this Kingdom?

Andre: Well, I definitely love the Delphinus Range. Beautiful mountains, excellent for skiing. I don’t suppose you’ve tried it? One must go during the Salidon Moon, the snow is perfect. Oh, and Mirsage Harbour is absolutely breathtaking, the sea view is just nice, and the ships! So many of them, I must say—

Verena: —yes, Andre, lovely ships. Now, for me, I just enjoy the thought of the Forests. They’re just so calming in a way? Not to mention the draw I have towards forests in general, all those trees... Oh, and the Talin Islands. Beautiful and untouched, literal paradise! We’re going to see if we can open one up to the public.

elysia, as described in the official texts

The Kingdom of Elysia ( also referred to as Elysia ) is the oldest in the dimension. It is split across two landmasses, Solias and Helisan. The Delphinus Range in Helisan is a popular tourist destination for those seeking colder weather, and the three of the four Forests of the Fae can be found in Elysia. Helisan is mostly unpopulated, save for Mirsage Harbour and the tip of the continent where a bridge connects it to the rest of Elysia. Average travel time by car in the capital is relatively quick, with smooth traffic operations.

I ; FEAR

little one who cries in the dead of the night because you heard a noise from the cupboard. that’s just your local monster who takes care of the real bad guys. that noise you heard was them fighting it out.

growing up and they tell you not to step in the woods or you’ll be taken by the fae. that’s just them remembering the last time the town chief’s daughter did that and never returned. that silence whenever you bring it up was them reevaluating you.

teenager who stepped into the woods ignoring their cries and you heard a scream. that’s just the ghost of the daughter telling you to go back go back go— you don’t listen, do you? another step, then another, then—

then you fall through and into another world where humans aren’t invited and the High Queen looks you over and just says “fear is born from imagination” and lets you go. you wander the place, you touch the dirt-but-not-dirt walls, you pass whispering people with pointed ears.

fear is born from imagination, but you’re not imagining anything, so you’re no longer afraid, and that’s when they steal you away from that heavenly court and put you in the darkest of rooms, where evil is the most glorious thing to exist, and you realise

fear is born from the imagination but fear keeps you alive.

2 ; INSANITY

and then you disappear and they think: it’s over, they’re never coming back. but then one day you emerge from the woods, a little battered but still whole. still alive.

and they’re happy to see you, but there’s something off that they can’t quite get right. it’s not your ears, because they’re still round. still human ears. they press iron to your skin. nothing happens.

then you speak, and they scream and flee. you cannot hear, for you have been deafened. you don’t know what you’re saying. i am whole, you want to say. why are you running?

they do not hear human words, child of the fae. they hear the language of the old gods, a language so old and powerful mortal ears will bleed. the gods were never meant to be heard, only obeyed.

they refuse to listen to you. you cannot listen to them. insanity comes knocking, and you let it in. all day, you wail and scream, and soon the town is empty, the people escaping.

except for you, fae-who-is-not-a-fae. you don’t notice, though. not with all the blood you see.

fear &. insanity, dove, it comes for us all.
