Waterparks, the band, is very cool. The very special reason that I think I love them is that they are quite unique in a very unusual way.

Now there's a lot of artists that make songs with happy and catchy melodies but the lyrics, in fact, are sad and gloomy. But not, Waterparks (at least, not all the time).

Waterparks does something a bit like it, but it's not exactly that. I don't even know if they actually do it, or if that just me imagining things.

Either way, all of it sounds happy, but it's the forced, sad kind of happy.

Like putting on a happy face when you just wanna crash, like smiling for a picture when you don't want one to be taken, like acting cheery for people when you'd rather be alone in bed.

It's the kind of forced happiness, like duct-taping your whole face into a wide grin. It's looks plenty happy but you can tell the person inside is just dead. Like when your parents make you smile for a picture of you in your best clothes and they don't really notice anything wrong with the picture unless they want to.

You keep doing everything for them, you force your laughs and smiles for them, you make it so happy that it's brash and off-putting but it still isn't enough. It isn't enough because the sad inside still shows.

That's what Waterparks sounds like.

          No podía evitar ya comenzar a perder un poco la paciencia porque no terminaba por llegar el vuelo y pasaban las horas cosa que lo volvía mucho más cansado. Para Kendra era ya perder un día por completo pero aún deseando que pasará, se encontraban en la sala de espera y cada que podía observaba la pequeña pantalla en espera de que el gran retraso del avión por una fecha porque los habían sacado del vuelo. Observó de reojo a otra persona que llevaba sentada también ahí horas, suponía que era el mismo caso. ❝——¿No te parece que ya es demasiado tiempo?❞ se quejó, por más que hablarán parecía que simplemente su respuesta solo era esperar.

“ pero, chan, ¿y si me jala las patas mientras estoy sola? ” pregunta con ojos asustadizos, por momentos pareciendo a los de un pequeño ciervo asustado. la negación a quedarse sola en el departamento era absoluta, dejar ir a chan no era una opción. o, bueno, podía haber otra y era que la una a sus planes.
