For the drabbles how about Taserbones 90?
Thanks for playing @awww-brain-no! Drabble still means 100 words, right? I think I fail at drabbles. Have a triple drabble and 3/4.
From the drabble prompt meme.
“This is why I said I’m not buying Ikea furniture again, babe.” Brock said as another bullet punched through the table they were crouched behind.
“This is why?” Darcy whisper-screamed from beside him. “I thought it was because you objected to the aesthetics, you asshole, not because it doesn’t give good cover in a gun battle!”
Brock calmly raised up over the edge of the table and fired off three quick shots.“You can never go wrong with a good hardwood, sweetheart. That way you get both.” A screech and a thud confirmed at least one shot hit the target.
“Well maybe you should have mentioned we needed something that could stand up to a 38 special.” Darcy snapped out.
“Don’t be silly, Darce.” Brock fired again and grinned as he heard another assailant drop. “Look at the size of those holes. These guys were loaded with 45s, at least.”
Brock took another quick look over the top of the table. “Yep. Looks like we just had two stragglers from the pack.”
Darcy started to stand but Brock put a hand on her shoulder. “Stay down, baby. You don’t want to see the mess they are making on your rug.”
“God dammit” Darcy grumbled and stood up anyway. “Hydraulic fluid leaking every-fucking-where. Doom and his worthless piece of shit bots.” She stepped carefully over the mess of fluid and mechanical parts just inside their front door. “I’m sending the cleaning bill to the Baxter Building.”
“That’ll show ‘em.” Brock chuckled, watching as Darcy grabbed her jacket off of the coat rack. “Are you going somewhere?”
“To buy new furniture, dumbass. Are you coming?” Darcy gestured impatiently.
“You keep calling me names, sweetheart, and I’m gonna think you don’t like me very much.” Brock grinned and pulled on his own jacket, following her out the door.
Darcy turned and grabbed him by the lapels, pulling him down to rub her nose against his. “I like you just fine, Commander Rumlow.” She breached the scant space between them and kissed him, playfully nipping at his bottom lip. “And if you clean up that mess when we get home, I’ll show you exactly how much.”
Brock groaned and grabbed her hand, pulling her to the stairway. “God damn doombots.”
