"Why do you always frown when you see me tell me is it something I did?" She smirked at him pretending to be hurt, "I'll be nicer to you next time, maybe I'll even tell you about the girl...That would be nice right?"
Had any other being accused him of “frowning,” they would have appeared utterly insane, and he would have treated them accordingly- yet in her voice, the nonsensical query is delivered so casually, so naturally, that even the Reaper himself is momentarily stumped and robbed of words.
Anger, fear, suspicion, anxiety—he has faced each of these attitudes more times than any would care to count, and long since learned to deal with them with blunt efficiency…yet precious little has trained him for a reaction of a nature so unashamedly flirtatious.
‘Nice’….to so easily receive the information he desired about the blonde girl would indeed be such, if not outright unrealistic…for as much as she sought to tease and mislead, the rose-adorned woman was still the girl’s patron, and her loyalties doubtlessly lay therein.
“I do not believe…that you would suddenly wish….to be so gracious.”
