Cosplay planning break down: I'm planning on making this beautiful Pinky Pie design for a Wondercon and I just started the build so I thought this would be a great example to share insight on costume planning. This beautiful original design for Pinky Pie by: @_sunsetdragon_ 🌟🌟🌟 First off I had to decide how I want to make the outfit. And there are tons of ways different people would go about making the same design. I see this design as being flowy and translucent and glowy! The skirt I want to be super soft and sheer. I don't want tulle, or stiff organza. So I knew I wanted a shimmery chiffon. And I knew I wanted to gather it real tight to make all those lovely lines in the skrit so I estimated a lot of yardage for each color. For the glitter sprinkles on the bottom I wanted to use the same technique that I used for the stars on my stevonnie pants. It's an iron on glitter vinyl. Now the top is the big thing. I'd assume a lot of people would cut out different fabrics into balloon shapes and stitch them over each other to create that look. However, I image the balloons to be 3D. I want to sculpt and mold and cast them, then layer them on the bodice. And not only that, I want to cats them in silicone so they're squishy and translucent like balloons! And since they'll be translucent, I want to add little leds to some of them and have them twinkle! ....want to know more??? Well i can't fit the entire breakdown in the space that IG allows.
