Right?? Seriously, at the very least it should be coded not to promote posts to you that originate from your URL. Like sometimes it literally just shows me the same post I made like 20 times a day (which should also be cut back btw) and I’m just like “yes. i’m aware. i posted this.”

While I know absolutely nothing about coding, it does seem like it would be pretty simple for them to do.

SAME. It does this with my art all the time bc I follow some of the tags I tag it with…

One would have thought Tumblr would have realized that people who track tags also tend to post in said tags because *gasp* that’s the sort of thing they’re interested in. And that people don’t want their own posts promoted to them (well tbh I don’t want any posts promoted to me but still). But no, Tumblr does not function on reason.
