“I’ll confess to crimes I didn’t even commit, just give me five more minutes! I'll even accept whatever punishment you want to give me. Okay?” (to Captain Pete Mitchell)
aymixium answered:
"do I even WANT to know this time?" he shook his head, waving the thought off. "You are pushing too hard, Natasha, and you need to know when to pull off and that's why you always end up dead in a dog fight!" workout a single thought, he continued before his brain could stop it, "and that's why I don't want you on this god damn mission anymore!"
Phoenix's jaw CLENCHES hard enough that there are remarkable twitches in the corners. There is a growl harbored in the pit of her throat as her shoulders square off to her Captain. "With all DUE respect, Sir," which is likely none given the volatility of her tone, "I wouldn't be here if I didn't push in a dog fight. You cannot teach instincts that I clearly posses!! The Superiors all say I remind them of YOU, sir." She clips, trying not to sound hostile. Her instructor is still hot when fuming.
Lightning blazes across her burnt-umber orbs as she turns back to him. "What is that SUPPOSED to mean?" Her nostrils flare. "You cannot just BOUNCE me because you don't WANT me. I'm going with or without your permission, with or without your unit. I don't HAVE to be one of your daggers. There are other instructors."
She moves to push passed him. "I thought you were different. Maybe, I was wrong." Her voice cracks a little as she speaks.

They were a stopping point. A dead-end place for those suffering a bad draw, rotten luck. Fate always brought them, the wayward living, like a new pilgrimage no one meant to take.
It did not look like a place of holiness, all river-slick brick and rusting pipes. A pumping station that had been long since abandoned, even before the world was. One that offered refuge, safety, food--but only for those deemed deserving. For those that were not, the graves had been dug.
"There is one rule," their group had been told by one of the many who lived within the building. "Violence begets violence. You will not survive for a second chance." They were led into the belly of the place, where tables were set and candles were lit. A mixed offering of garden grown vegetables and chicken was provided, along with water and wine. A last supper of sorts.
She was among them, the leader of this place. Set apart only by the small bones knotted into her hair. It was another greeted them, a man who looked more the part. With a disarming smile and a hatchet at his hip. He introduced himself as Abel and began to tell them the story of how the sanctuary came to be. Not the true version, but it was near enough.
No one knew the true version. The one that came when she was young and naïve and yet wasn't. Hadn't she known better? She still dreamt of violence. Of being always on her own.
She could spare them from it. She could spare them all from it.
A comment made by a redhead with severely outdated facial hair made Abel pause and pulled Fox from her reverie. Distrust, skepticism, they weren't uncommon, and she could hardly blame any for it. If it was her on the other side of the table, she'd be watching them like a caged animal waiting for a collar. Waiting to bite.
"I can lead you to bed," she added in the space Abel left behind. Hardly glancing up from the chicken bone she snapped between her fingers. "But I can't make you sleep." The quiet conversation that had rumbled in the background seemed to cease. "Trust or distrust, you will be taken care of for as long as you are here."
@aymixium gets a starter from // wesley
"Are we going to talk about how poorly handled that was or..." Wesley trailed off, looking at the younger girl with a frown. They'd been working together for a while now and he knew he was harsh on her, but he had his reasons. She was relatively new to this and if he wasn't critical, she would never learn from her mistakes. Being an EMT was not something that could be perfected by reading books. Real life experience was what was going to make her great at this, he wasn't going to sit by and let her think she was doing a perfect job instead of helping her improve. She had potential, he could see it.
They had just dropped a patient off at the hospital and were climbing back into the ambulance. The patient would survive, he had no doubt about that, but she'd panicked at the last minute and almost caused him to bleed out. If Wesley hadn't been there to fix the torniquet, they might have been delivering something very different to the ED doctors.
@aymixium look my hand slipped again
Her date was babbling on about something she was hardly paying attention to. She never really wanted to agree to this but her brother pointed out that she needed to stop sitting around waiting for someone to come back that she hadn’t spoken to in almost a year. He was right, but it broke Willow’s heart to admit it. Outside the bar, rain pelted on the ground, making loud noises as it hit the roof. It brought back memories. Memories she shouldn’t be thinking about with her date sitting across from her.
She spotted the doors open and a group walked in. A familiar face made her heart drop into her stomach. What in the world was he doing here? Now?
Eyes locked. Her heart pounded against her ribs.
Willow stared for a long moment. Too long. Her date didn’t notice. Then she slowly rose to her feet, muttering something about getting another beer.
“Hey.”
It was a lame thing to say but she didn’t know how else to greet him. She just wanted to chat. See how he was. Find out what he was doing there. See if he’d found someone.
Dark eyes peeked up beneath her lashes. Nervous. Anxious. Afraid he would turn away.
it's common fucking knowledge. - ..... From Rick oh no my hand slipped
"Oh, Rickie, you think it's that simple?"
He scrapes Lucille against the wall, crossing the distance in between them - daring to close it to only a couple of feet. "It never is," he announces, grinning.
"Besides- we need to figure out new arrangements, don't we? Remember I own you."
it seems our conversation has come to a close. - hear me out, an AU where Abraham Ford is Negan's right hand man???
"Has it?"
The authoritative vibration bounces into the room, echoing against the walls. The tip of Lucille pounds against the ground - subtly reminding the orange-haired man of who is exactly in charge. Negan, however, heaves a sigh and relaxes within his chair. "Do tell why you believe this conversation is over, already." It's an offer - kindly given seeing as the other had been by his side for quite a bit now. The wooden item is placed finally onto the table - as he tries to let the other man relax just as he wants to.
❛ you aren't going anywhere without me. ❜ - javi to Kate!!! (She just keeps doing this!!!! LET HIM HELP YOU KATE)
His words bring a wake of DREAD crashing down upon Kate's shoulders. Her panicked gaze falters downwards clumsily. Suddenly, she is all too aware of the way her hands quake from the rush of adrenaline. The nightmares beckon every time she let herself rest. "Trust me, Javi. You aren't going to want to go. I'm---" Broken? An albatross? Incapable? "Listen, it's SAFER if you stay behind." She's feckless. Feckless enough to get people KILLED over a theory. She wants his help, but knows she cannot stand the idea of seeing the life drained from his beautiful eyes. She can't lose anyone else. "I'm not even sure this will work." @aymixium
