Hey, do you know what’s criminally underrated? Birdwatching. I don’t do it ‘properly’ like people who have notepads and books and mark down every sighting, but I just like sitting and watching birds go about their business. The other day I sat beside a pond by myself while the sun set and watched ducks, and that made me feel calmer and happier than a lot of other things have before.
I think a lot of people take birds for granted and don’t pay a lot of attention to them, and that’s terrible. It’s worth every moment, trust me. If you have the time, go to a park or a nature reserve and just see what they do. You don’t need binoculars or a camera or any special bird identifying books. Just go and see what they’re doing. I don’t think you’ll regret it.
