A VISIT HOME HAD LONG SINCE BEEN IN ORDER. Weeks had passed since he had since seen Sild, and with the Avis Unit making advances further east to see effects of the repaired wyrmway nexus in the Oilwell Basin, a trip to the heart of Wyveria was inevitable.
There'd been a lot on his mentor's mind lately. Between the Frenzy infection of the Dragontorch, Zoh Shia's near constant revival and the discovery of a Gogmazios population within these lands, Nata's homeland was turning out to be much more lively than the Guild anticipated.
As for Nata, he wondered what it meant; if they would be continuing studies here for at least a few years, or setting up a base of operations to closely monitor activity without interrupting the livelihoods of the Eastlands' denizens. It was both exciting, confusing and a bit frightening, but as he had done with many things lately, Nata was taking it in stride.
The sight of Gogmazios is still fresh in his mind when he following the rest of his unit down a familiar tunnel towards Wyveria's Ruins. The path here was narrow and winding, but the glow of a wyrmway snaking overhead guided them home.
If not for the sound of something shifting in a conjoined tunnel, he would have followed it closely. Alas, his seikret paused at the sound of rocks and movement, and Nata's attention was quickly drawn.
. . . Which brings him to now; a lone apprentice hunter and his seikret, perhaps foolishly investigating the source of the sudden noise.
