If you are not a mutual, you are still free to send me and my muse headcanon-related questions and prompts, so long as it is not turned into a roleplay. I tend to unfollow non-mutuals whom I follow first and who do not follow me back after 24-48 hours of activity, as to keep my dash clean!

I WILL ONLY ENGAGE WITH MUNS AGES EIGHTEEN AND UP. While I have no interest in writing smut or nsfw whatsoever regardless of my muse, I am entering my thirties and with each passing year I find it more awkward and uncomfortable to write with younger individuals.

WHILE I AM MOSTLY CANON-COMPLIANT, some divergence may be made where fit. Some of Nata's history is still speculative, and headcanons I make are subject to change based on whether we get more information about his family in the expansion to Wilds. Keep this in mind!

FOR OBVIOUS REASONS THERE WILL BE NO SMUT OR SUGGESTIVE CONTENT ON THIS BLOG. Nata is a literal child, and I will not be aging him up. Besides, smut is not my cup of tea. All interactions with this kid will be platonic.

@wylkstone asked: Nata doesn't even get the chance to yelp as he throws himself into the canal. His arms scoop up Esra as he leaps for cover, just out of the path of a frenzied pokemon. There's a loud splash that sounds as they hit the water. This could have been a sound escape from danger, except for one problem: he couldn't swim.

There's a splash behind them, and in a reflex, they turn around to see what had caused it.

Oh. That doesn't look good-- "Are you okay?? Do you need help??"

AT FIRST, NOTHING. The dreadful, eerie silence is filled only with the sound of the canal waters rushing past, and the bewear, still agitated, grunting as it watches for something to emerge from the water. Then suddenly comes a splash, as the light green feathered body of Nata's natu comes flapping out of the water, shrieking in displeasure at getting her feathers wet. She scrambles onto a shallow ledge for purchase, and turns, frantic, towards the stream.

When the surface finally breaks again, it's Nata, clambering to keep his head above water as the current sweeps him further away. He bobs up and down under and above the water level, gasping, before he finally manages to clutch the nearest wall.

A few deep breaths, before he sighs with relief, slumping briefly against the edge of the elevated platform he'd managed to grab onto. The brief reprieve is shattered by another growl. The bewear was lumbering towards them, undeterred by the water.

Feeling the hairs on his neck bristle, he quickly tenses. "Calm it down!" He cries. "Calm it down—hurry!"

You think you're 'good.' You think you're 'controlled.' But in the deepest part of you, there is a shadow that wants. It wants more than it should. It wants to take, to consume, to break what is fragile and hold power over what is weak. You hide it under kindness, under obedience, under silence. But it scratches at the walls when you' re alone. You terrify yourself, don't you? The flashes in your mind-the what if I just…? moments you'd never admit. You tell yourself you'd never act on them. But the thought still tastes sweet. You bury it deeper every year. But the truth is: shadows don't go away. They grow..

"Coffee doesn't make sense to me. All it does is make me sleepy."

"WE DON'T HAVE ANYTHING LIKE IT IN MY VILLAGE. Well, except maybe tea, but we don't put anything sweet in ours." Even then, the teas his village had come up with weren't complex blends. They used the same leaves, steeped in boiled water, and left to cool before drinking. It also was closer to a floral, white tea than a much more bitter and stronger black tea . . .

On the subject of coffee, though . . . "I guess if bitter flavors are supposed to wake you up, then I see a point . . ." Doesn't mean he agrees with it, though. Coffee is terrible.

Coffee is for losers (and Alma when she pulls an all-nighter shhhh)--but Alma WILL give Nata every kind of tea she can think of.

It has to be sweetened! He doesn't mind a strongly bitter tea but make sure it has plenty of honey.

Not that any keen adult would offer a child coffee but I feel like Nata would turn his nose away from such a thing. He'd try coffee once, decide its way too bitter and ponder how and why some people drink so much of it.

Moze has been watching the boy for some time. Watching as he tries to learn how to use a staff. Not even a shorter gùn staff either, but the longer version that's six feet in length and made for adults.

Watching from the shadows, he's uncertain if he should intervene and if, then how should he intervene. People is not his strength, especially not children, even if he shares some things with this boy.

As he watches him fall on his behind one more time, he lets out a breath and shake his head slightly. He'll end up hurting himself if he doesn't stop him and then Jiaoqiu will scold him and probably put extra peppers in his food.

Appearing seemingly out of nowhere, Moze picks up the gùn. The staff seems small next to his tall, muscular body. "A gùn is too long for you and you need to start with the basics of martial art before you start using weapons," he informs Nata, his voice the usual low and slightly monotone tone.

He should tell the boy to ask Feixiao for help. She's better at this. Better with people. With children. He scares people. Nata doesn't need more fear. Yet, he remains, standing there with the staff in his hand and the boy in front of him.

NATA NOTICES MOZE SLINK OUT from the shadows, but he does not coil with fear, nor flinch from admonishment. Instead there's just mild surprise, before the boy hugs his knees to his chest, quietly and sheepishly observing the other as the staff is taken in the man's hands.

Whereas Moze sees himself as an unsuitable teacher, Nata sees a role model. Feixiao was kindhearted, cunning, and surprisingly motherly when the situation called for it—but she was still busy as the General of the Yaoqing, and so the situation often called for Nata to be under the close watch of her retainer. The boy was initially intimidated by him, true, but that all but melted away when Moze had instilled in him a desire to grow strong.

Grow strong. Go back, and save his people. At the very least, avenge them. However Moze's approach, Nata followed with an unwavering impetus. As Moze corrects him, Nata rises to his feet, and swallows lightly.

"O-oh . . . yes sir," Sheepishly, Nata nods. Yet, he continues to stare at Moze with eyes wide and attentive—almost pleading. He wants to learn, and he's willing to observe the assassin at work.

Silver tugged and rattled their head around on Nata’s scarf, seeing it more of a plaything than a clothing item. “Rrr… rrr!”

"I SAID STOP THAT!" He demanded, more serious this time. Nata's hands dig into the cotton fabric of the old scarf, and pull back sharply, attempting to free the other end from the young Lugia's maw. "That's the last thing I have left of my village, and it's not a chew toy!"

I've been writing Nata's pkmn au a bit on discord and realizing more and more how it would probably take Nata time to adjust to the concept of Blueberry Academy. I'm still on the boat that says that putting an entire school under the water in an open sea isn't a good idea . . .

MOOMIN WAS A DETERMINED AND ADVENTUROUS SOUL, he would give him as much. However, the sick worry remained tightly knit within Nata's features, brows creased into a worried look while his teeth clicked together in a slight grimace. With a breath, his gaze scans the perimeter of the rock face. Whilst searching for a way up, Nata mentally cursed at himself for not keeping a closer eye on his friend. As his companion—no, as a hunter, he felt he should be responsible for keeping Moomintroll safe.

The other was a guest, after all. "Uhm, hold on a second!" Rising up from his knees, Nata pushed himself to his feet and stood back from the cliff's edge. After having been lingering there for what felt like too long, he finally considered sifting through his belongings. He had his clutch claw and slinger, he had flare ammo to signal an SOS, but would this constitute as such a situation? Furthermore, even if it did, who would land in deeper trouble—Moomin for foolishly scaling down the cliff, or Nata, for being negligent?

After searching through his pack, and patting himself down for certainty, Nata realized that he had no better alternatives to lift up Moomin himself. They a few options, but all of them would take time and luck.

One—signal his unit for help. Two—search around for some vines or greenery to pull down, but that would mean leaving Moomintroll to fend for himself. Or three—follow along, and hope there was a way back up.

While the first one was obviously the most logically sound given he had no better choices, Nata was panicked and frankly, tired of burdening his fellow hunters. "I don't have anything!" He calls back to Moomin, leaning over the edge again.

"Can you see a way around? There's lots of tunnels around here, maybe you could find one?"

Detective Sentences, Vol. 33

DRAWN BROWS AND NARROWED EYES confirm Nata’s question without a response. Luke’s hard, almost grim expression remains on the mystery typed in today’s newspaper. It’s several moments after Nata speaks that Luke looks up, and his pinched face smooths into earnest surprise. “Huh?” Oh-so-eloquently blurted. The gentleman-in-training pulls his cap down to cover his warming face. He’s overwhelmed by embarrassment, but just for a moment. Adjusting his cap to its proper spot upon his tousled hair, Luke finally responds, albeit with a pout unbefitting of a number one apprentice.

“Are you saying you’re not interested?” Luke answers with a question, deliberately disregarding etiquette. Before his wounded pride could speak any further, something settles in his expression, and his posture loosens. “Just think about it,” He says with an excited smile. “the library isn’t that far, we could investigate for ourselves! Solve the mystery, just us! Wouldn’t that be grand?” Then he adds, in a slightly more calm tone, “I think it would be fun . . . but if you really don’t want to, I understand.”

"YES." THE PROMPT, ABRUPT RESPONSE to Luke's question also disregards etiquette. At least initially, Nata is a bit of a stick-in-the-mud, but mostly because he was the kind who liked to lay low and avoid drawing attention to himself, when a matter did not concern his interests. Luke had already seen how the other's eyes tended to sparkle at the subject of birds, or dioramas of animals and other things he'd never seen in his life before. It spoke to Nata's quiet, sheltered upbringing.

Still, despite his initial disinterest, it was hard for Nata to remain that way. Luke was good at being persuasive—at least to his peer. Maybe it was the choice of words he used, or the way he carried himself, but he always managed to make Nata feel like they could do anything they put their mind to. "W-well . . . I guess, when you put it that way . . ."

The boy thought for a beat, mulling over his own sense of self-preservation. Then he takes the newspaper in one hand as well; he couldn't read the local language quite as well as Luke could, but he could draw that something had happened from the pictures alone. "Sh . . . shouldn't we tell Alma where we're going, at least?"

"I'M ALWAYS SAD! THAT'S JUST HOW I BE, Y'KNOW?!"

Rui just glances at Nata when he heard that. Something deep inside him felt like watching his own dad on a bed, full of devices on him in order to keep the old man alive.

The awful, sorrowful days before meeting Ukkomon. He was too young to remember what happened with his own dad... And he had had the hopes to see a miracle to happen.

Lots of things Ukkomon had done has not been forgiven yet. Rui still feels those were sins committed against his own family and kind. But for sure... Ukkomon had given him the chance of experiencing a good life, with healthy parents...

Once again, he was forced to face that pain.

"... Nata-kun."

But, unlike the child Rui, who once had held hope close to his heart... He felt afraid of losing someone closer to him again.

"Hey, relax Rookie" Lunamon called him, "We might not have healing powers, but we will make sure he won't die here!"

then, she just evolved into Lekismon.

She continued moistening the cloth with her ice powers, removing it from Nata's forehead, moistening it and then placing it back to the kid's forehead.

Noel had already materialized some comfy pillows and a blanket for everyone, while MediumUkkomon kept holding Nata carefully.

Ukko's body is soft but also a bit refreshing so he thought maybe it would also help to control Nata's fever.

"Where should we go, may I ask?" Coronamon looked at Gotsumon, asking with a nonchalant tone, "And what should we look for?"

Despite being a digimon, that place could not be like his origina world, or even the world he and Lunamon came from -- Witchelny -- so he was quite lost at the moment.

It bothered him being useless, especially when he had shown a side he did not want anyone else to see ever again. He's supposed to be the strongest of the group and yet...

... He shouldn't let a person too dearly to one of his teammates perish. So he wanted to do anything in order to save Nata.

TRUTH BE TOLD, GOTSUMON'S OWN KNOWLEDGE of human diseases and how they compared to digimon diseases was slim. What had prompted the digimon's search was a hope that having come from the Digital World might pose as a benefit in this situation; if Nata was born here, and raised on the food grown within this world, it stood to reason his people's bodies had adapted to the natural world around them, right?

"We're lookin' for a tall, blue stalk with tear-shaped leaves." He instructs. "It's very bitter, but it does the trick. Though if you think the kid won't take it, then we better find some white flowers to crush up to make it a little more palatable."

"I didn't take you for an herbalist." Kudamon murmurs, gliding up to Gotsumon idly.

"When you're frequently on the move, you make use of what you can. My clan and I are nomadic. It's how we know the land so well—and how we ran into you lot." Gotsumon declares, expression determined.

"Hmmph," Kudamon grumbles in retort, still untrusting. "Tell me, if you don't remember exactly what the humans did, then why insist on hating them anyways? Nata says that his people hadn't ventured outside their village for ages. Apparently, it was because they're all afraid of digimon like you."

"Eh, I don't know for certain what happened, but I've heard stories," Murmured Gotsumon. "Some say some digimon went missing a long time ago because of them. A few others think they did something to modify the overworld's server, in order to get the upperhand. And some say . . . well, I don't know if there's any truth to this," a pause. "But some say that they created something far worse than any disaster."

"Far . . . worse?" "Something that can destroy data entirely. A digimon can't respawn as an egg if our data is wiped out. We simply cease to exist."

Kudamon hums in thought at this. Something that can destroy data . . . "Is it a digimon? Do you know?" He inquires. "Nata says a digimon was responsible for attacking his village."

"Couldn't tell ya. Can't even say for sure if its true," Gotsumon replies. "As for the digimon, it could be anyone that lives around here."

These are the kinds of books Nata would admire. Encyclopedias with pictures, diagrams and fun facts are his bread and butter. He just likes learning okay.

Even before this kid became fluent in the language spoken in the west, he's always liked books, especially encyclopedias. You could give him a book on different animals and he would just spend hours admiring the pictures and diagrams
