@halfknighted. :>
Dearest Ashe,
A modest update, from the Aegir Inn. It is with a heavy heart that I write to you, consumed with much to do and much to fret about. The inn’s family has been kind enough to let me stay under their roof while I tend to the estate with rebuilding and repairs --- though small, it is quite a cozy place, but the old fire that crackles here is no match for the warmth of your smile.
I wish to see it soon.
Restoration of the Aegir estate is going well. As well as it can, at the very least! I regret to inform you that it is in a sorry state --- hopefully, by the time of your visit in the next moon, I will have much of it cleaned up, and you will not have to see such pitiful scorn with your own eyes. It appears as though the library was one of the first rooms to go up in smoke; I was hoping to return with a selection from my family’s collection for you, but alas, I would be bringing back dust. Dust! It is a shame. I must try to replace my old poetry books, in due time. There are many poems that I wished to share with you, and it pains me that I cannot recall them all with perfect clarity.
I hope all has been well with you, and with your duties. Please give our friends my kindest regards and well wishes. Take care, my dearest star.
With warmth,
Ferdinand Von Aegir
