like snow falling gracefully from a polluted sky.

In revolt, our protagonist dances in a gown of white

making the world angelic in freshly squeezed glory,

a newly laid carpet

Our antagonist, drinking again

spills crimson upon the white earth

with a profanity stained kiss

across our hero's face.

A look of disdain in the enemy's eyes

as she points toward the distance.

Our hero's journey ends.

His tears halted from fear.

Our child smiles as mother kisses a forgiving forehead.

He picks up his toys, he cleans his boots.

Mother thinks of all she's lost swallowing worms from the bottle.

How many angels she traipsed through to get to the corner store?

She reads a story to the child, caressing a scar she inflicted.

"I love you, Mom."

"I'm sorry, son."
