this  had  to  be  a  prank.  or  maybe  she  had  hit  her  head  harder  than  she  thought  in  the  car  crash.  bella  was  still  trying  to  make  sense  of  how  he  got  across  that  parking  lot  so  quickly.  or  how  he  knew  that  she  was  there  at  all.  normally  after  econ  she  would  head  to  the  station  to  each  lunch  her  with  dad.  he  had  a  busier  case  load  than  normal  lately,  so  she  had  opted  for  a  quick  bite  and  coffee  at  the  library.  she  wasn't  supposed  to  be  there  at  all.  yet,  they  somehow  kept  showing  up  in  the  same  places.  washington  was  small,  but  it  appeared  they  were  nearly  overlapping.

"  i'm  sorry  -  can  you  repeat  that  ?  "  head  is  tilted  to  the  side  and  mouth  is  slightly  open  in  a  way  that  can  only  be  described  as  befuddled.  "  you  know  what  -  this  classroom  is  empty  -  maybe  i  didn't  hear  you  clearly  -  "  hand  absently  reaches  to  guide  edward  in  as  well,  letting  the  noise  of  the  busy  corridor  die  down  slightly.  it  was  her  first  time  back  in  the  library,  or  back  at  school,  since  the  incident.  although  edward  had  come  to  the  hospital,  their  father  had  been  the  one  to  give  the  go  ahead,  so  surely  she  wasn't  checking  up  on  bella.

hands  dropped  to  her  side,  taking  a  half-step  back  looking  up  at  the  other.  "  you  have  my  full  attention  now.  it's  just  what  i  thought  i  heard  before  -  "  there's  an  apologetic  smile  on  her  features,  "  well,  i  must  not  have  heard  it  right."
