Characters I want in Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Post-Launch
So, Sonic Racing CrossWorlds will release on September 25, 2025, and is confirmed to have post-launch characters. This post is September 12, 2025, so that's less than 2 weeks.
As of now, we have 3 confirmed characters for post-launch: Hatsune Miku, Joker, and Ichiban Kasuga. 10 additional characters are confirmed. Based on who's already confirmed, it's possible So, I want to share who I want to see in CrossWorlds, splitting the list into who I think will likely be in, and who I don't think will be in but would still like to see.
Who I Think Will Likely Be In
From left to right, top to bottom: NiGHTS from NiGHTS, Amigo from Samba de Amigo, AiAi from Super Monkey Ball, and Beat from Jet Set Radio.
If pictures online are to be believed, NiGHTS is on the game case, which seems to indirectly confirm them.
Samba de Amigo: Party Central was released in 2023, while Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble was released in 2024, so I find it unlikely that either game would not have characters represented.
Lastly, Jet Set Radio is supposed to get a reboot soon, and having Beat in the game would help advertise that.
Thus, I find it hard to believe any of them won't make it in.
Who I Don't Think Will Be In but Would Still Like to See
From left to right, top to bottom: Joe Musashi from Shinobi, Ulala from Space Channel 5, Billy Hatcher from Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg, Alex Kidd from Alex Kidd, B.D. Joe from Crazy Taxi, and Ryo Hazuki from Shenmue.
Shinobi actually got a new game at the end of August 2025, but I honestly had no idea since I haven't seen a single ad for that game. Still, I think that significantly bumps up the chances of Joe Musashi appearing.
Ulala has appeared in Sonic Riders and Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed, so she's practically gift-wrapped for Sega to put her in.
Billy Hatcher has appeared in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity and Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing, so I'd say he has a good chance of making it in. Apparently, he may have been a canceled character in Transformed. so this could be a chance for him to return.
Alex Kidd, B.D. Joe, and Ryo Hazuki have all appeared in Sega All-Stars Racing and Transformed, so here's to hoping they also get in. I know it's not likely, and they'll probably not be included in favor of Sega characters from newer games or more popular games, but it'd be nice to see them again for the nostalgia.
