occupation: an assistant for a high ranking courtesan, but the real money comes from her being a secret drug mule/courier between shady individuals and organizations.
(she stores the goods inside the chest part of her bodysuit, giving the illusion of big tiddies)
hobbies: paints portraits and sells them occasionally at markets
is sometimes commissioned by courtesans and their clients
combat: will not hesitate to scream or run. carries smoke bombs on her but has a bad habit of throwing them at faces instead of the ground
design notes: (also lets pretend that in the second pic i coloured in the top part of her top properly ♡)
the design is mostly a mix of activewear and traditional korean hanbok
primary colours (red, blue, yellow) are very prominent in hanbok, so I used them here with the main colour being blue.
I hoped to bring some sense of urgency and alertness with the brightness of the yellow, contrasting with the calm that the blue would normally evoke. serin is always ready to flee.
korean girls traditionally had their hair tied in one long braid before graduating to an updo once they got married. I wanted to incorporate that and indicate subtly that serin is youthful (+ unmarried, but thats not relevant)
serin wears leggings because she is oftentimes running, jumping, or maneuvering around terrain. she needs to be flexible and agile
the black straps you see at the top are connected to the bottom of her bodysuit, it is all one piece.
the jeogori is off the shoulder, but is held up in place by being pinned to her gloves (which go all the way from her hands to her upper arms)
