사랑하는 그대에게 안녕하세요. 임창균입니다. 이 편지를 쓰는 시점은 2월의 마지막날 28일 오전입니다. 3주차 훈련이 어느덧 끝나가는데 그간의 일을 말하기에는 편지지가 모자랄 것 같습니다. 논산은 저녁이 되면 그저 눈에 담기엔 아까울 정도로 아름답습니다. 그래서 더욱 생각나고 그대가 보고 싶었습니다. 어쩌면 같은 하늘을 보고 제생각 한 번은 하셨을까요? 또 어느 날은 훈련중 눈이 내렸습니다. 입춘은 지났지만 눈이 오니 아직은 겨울인가 봅니다. 눈이 내리니 잠시 그대 생각에 잠겨 쳐다보는 걸 보니 많이 보고 싶은가 봅니다. 아니 보고 싶습니다. 훈련이 마냥 할만하다, 쉽다 할 순 없지만 잘하고 있습니다. 10살 차이나는 훈련병들 사이에서도 항상 상위권입니다.(허리가 잘 버텨주길,..) 하루일과일과사이 편지를 읽는 게 너무 좋습니다. 잠시 그대가 보내는 일상과 향기를 알 수 있어 낭만을 맡게 됩니다. 보내주시는 편지한 통도 빠지지 않고 전부 읽고 읽어보려고 합니다. 많은 훈련병들이 부러워해서 괜스레 부끄러워지기도 합니다. 감사합니다. 항상 건강하고 행복하길 바랍니다. 제 생각도 잊지 말고 해 주십시오. 어떠한 말로도 표현 못할 만큼 보고 싶고 사랑합니다. 부다 잘 지내시길 -임창균-
To My Beloved
Hello. This is Im Chang-gyun. The moment I'm writing this letter is the morning of the 28th, the last day of February. The third week of training is coming to an end before I know it, and there's not enough paper to tell you about everything that's happened during that time. Nonsan becomes so beautiful in the evening that it's a shame to just take it in with the eyes. That's why I miss you even more and long to see you. Perhaps you've looked up at the same sky and thought of me at least once? And then one day during training, it snowed.
Spring has begun, but with snow falling, it seems winter still lingers. Watching the snow come down, I found myself lost in thoughts of you for a moment-it must mean I miss you a lot. No, I do miss you. Training isn't something I can say is just bearable or easy, but I'm doing well. Even among the trainees who are 10 years younger than me, I'm always in the top ranks. (I hope my back holds up well...)
Reading your letters between the daily routines is such a joy. For a brief time, I get to glimpse your everyday life and scent, breathing in a touch of romance. I read every single letter you send without missing any, and I try to savor them. So many of the other trainees envy me that it makes me feel shy for no reason. Thank you.
