2.61 understand that vaccination results in the manufacture of memory cells, which enables future antibody production to the pathogen to occur sooner, faster and in greater quantity
vaccination: harmless / inactive form of a pathogen is injected in someone's body
vaccines stimulate a response from the body without actually putting it at risk
when lymphocytes meet the pathogen, it will create antibodies, and memory cells will be created for that specific pathogen
if the pathogen is ever in the bloodstream again, memory cells will remember it and produce the same antibodies to combat against it
this means that an immune response is created sooner, thus causing antibody production to occur soon, faster and in greater quantity as the body has done it before!
