(meme). the first time she truly saw the doctor injured was with a smile on their face, goofy & large & so full of life that it scared her, even terrified, when she had realized how bad it really was. the actual realization took hours, denial being stronger than the evident bright flash of light that hit her eyes as he regenerated. since then, whether conscious of it or not, there's that lingering fear, a constant gaze out of the corner of her eye to see if even the smallest stone is thrown to hurt her life changer,
... which makes it so much worse when it does happen, when she does see it. panic sets in, cheeks flushed & lungs desperately searching for air as she looks @b4didea over, & over, & over–
"are you alright? it shot you! oh my god it shot you, doctor are you alright?" she's speaking so fast that each sentence morphs into the next, a string of words coated in desperation. before rose even realizes it, she's tearing up, hands trying to move the doctor's coat to search for any golden emitted glow, & with fingers trembling, its hard to even get a grip. only when her hands find rose's cheeks, & the former bad wolf takes in the sharpest of momentary breaths, does she stop moving, fingers still on the hem of the other, eyes finally steady. "i thought... it shot you, i..." there's something comforting about even the simplest touch, whether it's a neural connection made or something... time-lord (or perhaps its just because she's, her), but it slows rose's breathing, in, out, in, out. "are you alright?"
