The Felton Report // Nicholas Felton
Between Five Bells, B5B, released: 2010 - present, Nicholas Felton.
Felton’s Between Five Bells, also known as B5B, wine bottle labels are designed on a sentiment of transparency. Behind the appeal of the swirling and geometric styled designs is an acknowledgement and understanding about the grape varieties, composition, and weather conditions of the vintage. Whether you have an understanding of wines or not, these labels are intended to draw you in and inform the story of the certain wines.
I really enjoy these sophisticated, yet simple designs to demonstrate the story of these wines. I think that the geometric shapes and swirling designs pair with each other effectively which makes the execution of these design amazing. I like the way there is a lot of information on the bottle, however not enough to bore the viewer. These designs gave me an idea for my own poster designs where I could put the data on, for example, crisp packets to show obesity or a cigarette packet to show the data about smoking, then add this to a poster.
