So many questions about how the FEITS program works, but apparently not a lot of people are familiar with how to use it so I’m stuck.

Happy Birthday, Mun.

Happiest of birthdays, babe!<3 Alan invaded my mind for a moment and made me write this for you as a b-day gift. Hope you like:3

Normally, Alan wouldn’t do something like this. He didn’t know how to bake a cake to save his life. But seeing that today was a very special day for a certain someone, he had to attempt it. With Barry’s help, he’d been able to get his hand on a book that detailed everything that he would need to do to be able to bake a cake. He doubted his abilities to do so though. He would’ve asked Barry for help, after all, two heads know better than one, but unfortunately, his best friend and brother had meetings that he had to attend.

Alan stood in front of the counter, surveying everything that he had gathered for making cake, this should be a walk in the park once he got going. First step, making the cake itself. The recipe that he’d chosen was something that was supposed to be easy, at least that’s what the book said it was going to be. First step; preheating the oven, easily done the second that he figured out how this oven worked. Why did this one have to have so many buttons and switches? Couldn’t this thing be done in a microwave? The hell?

Next step, making the batter. Following all the steps, Alan fixed up the batter, smirking to himself when he realized that this was actually as easy as the book said it was. Nothing could really go wrong now at the moment, right?

After he filled the tin with the batter, of course making sure to line it so that the cake wouldn’t end up sticking, he set it in the oven and turned it on. While it was baking, he started on the buttercream for between the two layers that he was going to use. This turned out to be a little more difficult and he was glad that it turned out that he gotten waaaay to many ingredients otherwise it would’ve been a normal cake. He couldn’t have that for the birthday girl. Nope, not gonna happen.

The second batch of butter cream turned out a lot better and to his surprise, when he took the cake out of the oven when it was cooked, it didn’t look too bad either. Even the small crumbs that dropped off as he cut the cake into two layers didn’t taste too bad either. Thank god for that, right?

Now was going to be the hard part though, the decoration, this was the one part that Alan really wasn’t good at, he was better with a pen than a piping bag. He found himself thinking that maybe he should’ve gotten a store bought cake. But that wouldn’t make things that special would it? No, homemade was a lot better and he figured that for his first cake, he wasn’t doing such a bad job at it. Between the two layers of cake he put a layer of buttercream and some raspberry jam before putting the two layers together again and spreading the remaining buttercream out over the surface and sides. On the sides he put small chocolate chips Barry had found at a bakery store and the top, well, he wasn’t a decorator but he thought that it turned out alright.

The top was decorated with tufts of whipped cream al around the outer edge of the cake and right in the middle, writing in chocolate butter cream, he’d written ‘Happy Birthday’ in the best curly font that he was able to write.

He grinned to himself when the cake was finished, satisfied at the end result. If the thing tasted as good as it looked, that would make things even more perfect, wouldn’t it? He smirked, wiping his hand over his forehead, not noticing that he was smearing chocolate buttercream across his forehead. He glanced around the kitchen for a moment, wincing at the carnage that he’d created.

Eggshells everywhere, flour strewn around, chocolate chips covering the counter from where he’d let the bag tip over. Yeah, this didn’t really work out as he’d planed, but he’d clean the kitchen alter. No big deal right? Nothing a good cleaning job wouldn’t fix.

He carefully put the cake on a serving tray and stuck in a few candles to be lit just before he stepped into the office space. He slowly started to make his way over to her office, lighting the candles just before entering. He smiled to himself when he toed the door open.

Alan could see her working on one of her artworks on her graphics tablet, something that he was used to seeing whenever he stepped into the room. He walked around in front of her so that he was in her view and smirked as he held the cake out to show his Mun.

“Happy Birthday, Kristy.”
