“Black Robots” ... 72 x 36 inches mixed media. Black Robots is a socio-political piece that parallels social engineering with computer networking models. Social engineering is the use of centralized planning in an attempt to manage social change and regulate the future development and behavior of a society. It is also the art of gaining access to systems or data by exploiting human psychology, rather than by breaking in or using traditional hacking techniques. Both methods of social engineering have been used on a wide scale basis to destabilize societies for many years. Black Robots, the short film, was co-wrote, directed and edited by @imareelchick and debuted @houstonmaac during my solo exhibition ARTis The Imitation of Life. We’re proud to announce Black Robots will be featured in The International Houston Black Film Festival March 29th - 30th at NRG Center.
