EXACTLY people i talk to always say guns are important measures for self-defense, but being extremely focused on self-defense only acknowledges the prevalence of violence. exchange students came to my school & were worried about getting murdered
Yes!!! I think there's really this mentality in the US that people say "defense" when what is really meant is "retaliation" ?? Like what with all the fucking money we spend on the military and "defense industry" and I'm like 'huh I think if we were really attempting to DEFEND we would be building, i dunno, giant shields and not drones to kill people, that seems pretty goddamn offense-like' and it just keeps perpetuating the violence because all people want to do is fight fire with fire (kind of literally) instead of preventing violence in the first place
your house is also in the middle of freaking nowhere and i have to sacrifice 9 virgins and a goat to get there...and hmm interesting fact about me.. at my old house there were woods in front of it and my sisters were walking through there one day and found a tent and living area set up that had been abandoned super recently someone had literally been living in the woods in front of my house
