bobbi's pride is an iron-clad monster of a thing that's got its claws hooked into her chest — she knows she should let it go. that grant ward is underground, and he's not worth the time it would take to find him. and, what her conscience is telling her, is that this isn't what heroes do. at least, that's what clint might tell her. that's what steve might tell her.

natasha, however— natasha isn't the kind of person to tie bobbi to the things she should be doing. natasha's a bit more of a realist than that, someone who'll indulge her in her baser instincts without the infantilizing or the lecturing. which, bobbi thinks, is why she prefers natasha's advice for situations like this.

bobbi pauses in her activity of haphazardly tossing carefully folded clothes into a duffel bag, comes around the side of the bed to sit thigh-to-thigh next to natasha. she's not sure why the approval just makes her tired. it's not like she hadn't been expecting it. but she's tired.
